Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend (for those who live in the States) or just a great weekend in general for everyone abroad!
I gotta admit our stores not being open on Saturday anymore does mean it's nice to be able to schedule and/or do things on Saturdays. The in-laws still enjoy taking my son overnight but it allowed me to try and get shit done around here like three+ hrs of yardwork. I've said it before I'll say it again, I don't plan on moving again but if I do I will NOT end up in a corner house ever again lol. After picking my son up we had a nice late lunch at a pizza joint near the in-laws that does that Napoli-style thin crust pizza in the brick oven. And even better they do a GF pizza, too! Then we went we had a pool party to go to and as usual that boy turns into a merman lol. We were there from ike 6 to nearly midnight and he was in the pool for over four hours on and off.
Sunday we didn't have much planned. We did go by my father's grave. We do that every Memorial weekend to clean up his headstone and plant a flag to honor his service. Then since we were in the neighborhood we swung by my fave pizza place and picked up a Hawaiian Punk (mozz., goat cheese, ham, bacon, pineapple, no sauce but drizzled with honey). I almost had my son convinced to try it, too LOL. Afterwards we went by our fave frozen custard place Ritter's and had our first of the year - vanilla & chocolate for him, vanilla & chocolate almond for me.
Monday we drove out to watch the HP parade with family, then had a BBQ to hang out at for the day. He had fun playing with all the big kids and young adults as the only 'kid' there besides him was his several month old cousin lol. I think he got more soaked tossing water balloons then he did at the pool party LOL. Afterwards we said what the hell and swung by Ritter's again lol. Same thing for him (he's generally the type to stick with what he knows and likes) and I got chocolate & butter almond for me. I really need to double check and see if we can submit flavor recommendations because the BEST flavor ice cream I've ever had was their avacado banana. I know it sounds crazy but sometimes banana can be almost sickenly sweet so the blander avacado really mellowed it out. When my 'plain jane' mainly vanilla eating son enjoys it - which he did! - then you know it's a winner flavor!
Sooo that means today was back to the daily grind. That's always the downside of a three day weekend, the going bakc to work LOL.
So how was everyone elses weekend?
