Thanks for all the happy birthdays! You guys and gals rock.
I'm back from the South. The trip was relaxing, and pleasantly dull. I saw most of the people I wanted to see, and further cemented the fact that I'll never live there again. Christmas night, I woke up with an intolerable pain in my side. I thought I had gas or something for a few days, but a trip to the hospital showed that the lining between my lung and ribcage somehow ripped open. That sucked. They told me it takes weeks or months to heal, and I'd probably have to sleep sitting up for a few weeks. A few days later, I almost can't feel it anymore. HA!
I'm planning on a chill new years eve, as just about everyone I know is out of town or sick. Maybe go to a bar, or wander around town with a flask of bourbon and some Hank Williams. Happy New Years...hope everyone has fun!
