My Three Point Essay:
---
New website == wierd.
Not bad, but...
Unexpected change sucks more than change. The sun goes up, the sun goes down... well, it actually stays put, more or less, and I spin in cicles, but that's not the point.
The point is that I know what to expect, more or less out of this whole sun-earth-moon fiasco.
People are so messy! Totally eratic. Yeesh.
---
In other news, I just un-broke our DSL tonight. After speaking to a list-reading tech in india I finally checked google. Come to find out that our router runs off linux. That I can telnet into it and fiddle from a BusyBox shell. That other people around the world had my same problem and wrote down precise instructions on how to fix it, and qwest could care less.
At least it works.
---
In conclusion - summer school. I can't remember the last paper that I turned in on time. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but...
Writing is such a fiasco when it's got a date and a grade. Add to that references/bibliography, learning Vim/Emacs (editors) and LaTeX (something like xml, separating layout from content), plus network outages and
... I've stopped worrying about it. How about that World Cup?
I should find some drunk good-ole-boys to bet even money on the U.S.
People being people, I could probably find some boneheads to go 2:1 for the U.S. After all, as a country we suck at soccer *and* math.

You aren't writing papers about Vim/Emacs or LaTex are you? How absurd would that be, huh.
What sort of router do you have that gave you such fits you had to resort to telneting into it to fix it?
I can do the math and I know enough about football to know the us hasn't got a chance in anything to win.
life, huh.
