JOB DECISIONS

Good phone calls sometimes come at very awkward times. In this case, this Sunday while I was enjoying the 50 kuai (6 $USD) all you can drink special at Drum and Bell I got a call asking me help with post on a new film by a director I greatly admire. I was already several tens of drinks into the special and was...

TWO BEAUTIES

Last night met with another Eurasian dude. He's also a film guy, but more my brother's age. We stopped at the bar owned by the best bartender in the city. More an alcohol artist than anything. We entered and he was already slightly tipsy on his own art. We got a few drinks and my friend introduced me to his girlfriend - hiding...

The pilot episode for a new mystery series couldn't be more promising! biggrin ...A mysterious, fascinating character, along with the suggestion of some unnamed danger, in the opening sequence...a joyous event as a colorful background to the next one, introducing so many interesting characters the viewer can't guess what will happen of all the possible future interactions between them all... and an open ending with enough details left to the audience's imagination for making everybody impatient wink : la suite! la suite!

Sins to confess

When the depths of hell open to receive my soul, undoubtedly I will be sent to the ring of fire dedicated to people who enjoy tempting women without actually fully seducing them. I've discovered one of the fouler pleasures in my life is having long talks with women, during which I can turn on the full force of my charm, charm without...

Totally amazed by this website.
Not only in a "these things you find on internet, really" way.
I remember having read Lucien Malson's Les Enfants Sauvages some time ago (em... I mean, exactly, one generation ago) the conclusion of it was that feral children cases were fairly rare... apparently the number of recensings of contact-deprived children living in urban surroundings skyrocketed in the past 30 years (the book was first published 1966, if I'm not mistaken). Of course this may be interpreted in various ways... all of them almost equally chilling.

Being the spoiled rotten brat I am, I must say I didn't pay for it... I get sex-toys as presents. But I assure you, no matter how much it actually costs - I'm certain it's worth every penny! biggrin

Just when i was seriously thinking about leaving this site....it pulls me back in with the design. Such a sucker for design.

The title of this blog is: Old Things.

Unfailingly, all my life, I've been slave to my eternal nostalgia for things that I've never experienced. Like Star Wars, which I was too young to remember. Old Alfred Hitchcock movies. Dick Tracy comics.

Lately,...

yes, the design is nice isn't it? I'm surprised to hear there's anal sex in Deep Throat...I've never seen it but I always imagined it to be merely a series of impressive blow jobs. But hey, when has porn ever been that limited? whatever

keep up the writing! I'll try and do the same. smile

I love the new design, but it keeps crashing my computer frown it's not for people with old computers!
Those sad pandas are adorable, they look much better than me with black eyeshadow and runny make up from crying.

Beijing's been trying to blow its nose for days.

The heavy gray skies obscuring even near buildings are stubborn. The rains came twice this week to wash them off the horizon, but even after yesterdays downpour which flooded the courtyard of my apartment complex, the skies look poisonous.

The air pollution scale runs from 0-5. An average day in Beijing is a 3. In the...

Great, I thought.

I mean, Bertolucci's ideas intrigue me, but it's the cine-photographic nerd over here who's been wanting to see it for two years, or whatever. And after two years, it'd have to do much to not disappoint.

I sometimes get this funny idea about artistic evolution, and that--especially with something as technical as motion picture photography--something isn't the the best, but the best up to that point. On the other hand, the photography of The Conformist is as artistically sophisticated as any movie I've ever seen. Maybe Storaro was merely ahead of his time (and he clearly was, ages), but I do think it's as close to perfect as I've seen.

(What's this about anti-DVD policies? After all, the first thing to usually follow a restoration and rerelease is a special edition DVD.)

"I am planting aluminum cucumbers on a field of steel."

Girl's back from visiting her homeland. She returned with a CD of one of Russia's greatest rockers...who is EURASIAN! One of these days when I write the great novel history of my people, he will figure importantly in the plot.

Forgot to take my meds and work drove me to near insanity. Fortunately I got...

Eww. A fat cat is a sad thing to glimpse at, but a fat monkey may be even a sadder view...

But anyway. Maybe I'm the only one old hippy not to have ever read this novel by this guy... so, the name "koue" (I've no clue about what it's supposed to mean in the novel) didn't ring any bell when I saw it....
however if I happen to meet him, this old Zen monk, I would tell him "I'm your fan" as everybody does...
So long, Kou! biggrin
