I'm rediscovering my love for Dick Tracy.
otoki:
Dim sum is awesome. We don't have any decent dim sum nearby, so going in Chicago was a big treat.

Hi HI Hi-
It's my birthday tomorrow. In honor of that and my future poverty I've decided to cancel my suicidegirls membership. Which is not to say I don't love you all. I do. Truly. Just gotta save some bucks.

Search for Geoffrey Sledge and it should get ya to me.

If any of ya swing by Beijing, China, please give me a ring and...

Last night I dreamed a motley band of friends and I were riding a mechanical snuffulufogus across a post-apocalyptic ocean. He had his trunk above the radioactive clouds to give us fresh oxygen and all four feet extended way down to the ocean bottom.
tororo:
Uncanny, yet engaging.
whiterice:
haha, cool, i dreamed i was driving a jaguar xj8 along a mountain road - no shit

My life has been such shit these past month. Work's driving me crazy. Everything that can possibly go wrong goes wrong, and if I'm not there to chase it down, it never gets done. The moment I shut my eyes things start going wrong again. The movie's great, but this is definitely one of those jobs which makes me think twice about doing film. Too...

My life is in chaos.
tororo:
I hope you just do mean you're working your way out of the primal chaos stuff that your editing job is to shape into a concordant cosmos.............?

Yesterday, coming home from work late, I saw the saddest thing in the world.

A man waiting on a plastic stool, flanked by two bunches of assorted rotting fruit laying directly on the sidewalk. In front of him was a sign saying "1 pile for 1 yuan (20 cents)"

whiterice:
saw a burn victim begging on the sidewalk the other day. His skin looked like it had literally melted. Didnt give him any money...

Back in Beijing, living in the dark room of the color-grading room. A peaceful place where the Australian color artists place indie rock I haven't heard for two years.

Every so often hell breaks loose tho'.

Ever have your boss call you, first swear and berate you...then begin to cry?

I have such a love-hate relationship with this crazy job.
tororo:
Never.

It reminds me of a song by Jacques Brel, whose refrain goes:

"Oui, mais.... voir un ami pleurer".

Back to Beijing from Hong Kong. Glad to be back. Hong Kong may be a moveable feast, but it moves too fast, like running thru the Sizzler buffet on a oversped conveyor belt.

Last few days took the long subway then short minibus to Shaw Brothers' studio way out in the hills beyond the city. They had guards and passes and gates everywhere, like some...

...bereft of most animal life...? The little white manicured dogs with red ribbons, everywhere!

"a moveable feast, but it moves too fast"... nice description.

Still in Hong Kong. Decided I don't like this city. Reading Anna Karenina. For those of you who don't know the story, it's about a high class woman who's having an affair. But a side character is Levin, who is an aristocrat in the countryside who wants to get back to nature and live the pure life. I'm more interested in him than the society...

Doing the Lost In Translation thing in a hotel in Hong Kong.

And I hate that movie.

Sick and lovesick and angry and back in relationship hell. Tho' I think the fight with the girl has cooled enough that we can at least be human again.

tororo:
Oh this feeling of being trapped in a movie we hate.
xoxox:
its so refreshing to hear someone admit to hating that freaking movie. i always felt like a freak for not liking it, because its like some kind of credibility thing...and yeah, keep eating.
