I have purchased a camera.

I don't like Sundays much. I always feel like I'm waiting for something to happen, and that I'm just killing hours and hours just so I can go to work on Monday and start my week all over again.

I've been reading for most of today, and it's a very satisfying book, but it's not holding me as well as...

I just figured out that what was wrong with my damn Canon was... duh! Low battery power! Man, what a doofus! I almost broke down and bought another camera! My digital is worthless, so I was severely missing my Canon and simple rolls of film. How stupid can I get? So, the bad news? I'm dumb. The good news? I can take photos again!! Hoo-fucking-ray!

There really is nothing like getting out of rehearsal early. Going to bed at 9 is going to feel like seven shades of awesome. I'm actually feeling a lot better than I was when I got home from work, but I know that's partly because I am looking out my computer room window and all I can see is the giant, beautiful, shining, nearly-full moon....

Once again, I'm calling on all my photography lovers here, as I get closer to my camera purchase.

I've decided on the Nikon D-80, and am now shopping around for the best deal. This is what I'm looking at right now. Here's the short version:

One:
Nikon D80 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera Kit with 18-135mm AF-S DX Zoom-Nikon Lens PLUS with the promotional code I'll...

i got the d80 with the kit lens in january from ritz camera and love it. just last month i bought a quantarey 135-700mm lens to go with it i think. i also love it!

some things to remember...usually your best bet is to go with a kit lens - nikon usually puts some pretty good lenses in for these. especially for a 1st camera!

some places to check out are:

b and h photo - http://www.bhphotovideo.com

adorama - http://www.adorama.com/

ritz camera - http://www.ritzcamera.com/

and this guy has some extensive reviews of various cameras, lenses, etc...he's a professional freelancer for national geographic i believe...but check his site out. he's totally independent and has some really good info! it definitely helped me decide what to get initially - http://kenrockwell.com/

good luck!!

Good luck with the camera purchase - I've used the D40, so I imagine the D80 is even better.

Also, your new profile picture is lovely.

Rehearsals for Bride of the Monster start tomorrow night. Auditions last night really made me aware of how draining this whole process is going to be. Rehearsal until 9:30pm and getting up at 5am the next day will certainly be rough. The excitement for this thing has faded, but now I feel like I'm at a point where I can focus, and give it the...

For those that know me well, it comes as now surprise when I say that I love Halo, nor is it surprising when I say how much I love web comics. Any further explanation of my actions shall be found here.

I worked ten hours of overtime today! All my delicious overtime monies goes into the uber camera fund. Consider me a happy woman today....

Okay.....I just spent 1/2 hr reading Ctrl+Alt+Delete....what a blast. Never read it b4. Halo rocks!!!!

Also I just looked up "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" on Rottentomatoes.com (awesome site for movie buff's) since I hadn't heard of it before, and I'm excited about watching it.....although I might read the book first; have you read it?

Two great knew discoveries, based on reading one blog entry........thanks!!!! biggrin

FUCK YOU AMAZON!

So, no movie ordering this weekend. Apparently Amazon is no longer accepting electronic checks as payment, and I has no credit card yet (waiting on the application for my debit card to go through). Slightly crankypants about this, but there's really not much I can do right now about it. I'm just... crankypants.

Had a crazy gaming session last night. We started...

It's a bright bright bright bright bright bright bright sunshiney day in Kleio's world. Isn't that nice?

My friend who feared she was pregnant is not, thank science!

Nick's job seems to be going rather well - he'll at least be able to survive there as long as he needs to.

And the things that were good in my world are still good. Nick and...

Mixed mood for me right no. Some good things going on, some things not so great.

I got my first hangover yesterday, thanks to Yellowtail's Reisling wine and my first boyfriend's graduation party. He'll be leaving for New York soon, and I'll probably never see him again. It makes me sad, because we were good friends, and we had a lot of good times. He...

I know I'm behind the times and all, but...

nice profile pics. hangover's are apparently part of life's rich tapestry that try and educate us not to drink lots. I'm not convinced myself, and I've managed not to learn that lesson so far.

fingers crossed plan b has worked for your friend.

I have, sitting before me, Kleio's perfect cuppa tea.

It is Bigelow's French Vanilla tea, with two spoons of sugar and a splash of milk. Steam is coming off the top, and it is the shade of pale wood.

It has been a rainy day, which makes this tea even more perfect, because when it comes to tea, ambiance always plays a part.

It could...
