Thanks for the birthday wishes!
Chuck has gone back to Iraq, but the people I work with made it a nice birthday. I work at a newspaper, hectic, stressful, but fun too. Everyone brought food for my birthday. We had everything from cake, to chips & dip to fudge to a big tray of subs one of the other managers ordered. The night before, my friend Matt (one of the editors) took me out to dinner. Tonight my Mom and I went out to dinner celebrate my birthday and the one year anniversary of her being cancer free.
We had a great time while Chuck was here. It flew by. The phone was always ringing & he was trying to see family & friends too. He was trying to keep everybody happy. :-) But we managed to squeeze in some time for ourselves too. Only 4 months (we hope) until he comes home to stay.
He called me tonight to wish me a happy belated birthday. He had just gotten in from a nighttime patrol and he sounded dog tired, but it was so good to hear his voice. There have been rumors of them coming home early, but we are treating them as just that, rumors. I'm not believing the coming home in January thing completely until I see it.
Work has been good. Crazy. I practically live at the paper, but I still love my job.

Rumors are the worst thing about the military....but you can hold on to the fact that he thinks the world revolves around you!
