Does anyone else here like William Gibson? I'm not a fan of sci-fi generally, but I love his books. I'm reading Spook Country at the moment. I think the thing Gibson is so good at is showing you things that are just under the skin of everyday existance, like movement caught in your peripheral vision. I find his books transport me so powerfully into their world that I completetly disassociate from reality for a little while after reading them.
Perhaps you have to be a nerd/geek...
So, there I was reading the newspaper on Sunday and I read about how the super-rich book their holidays. There's a super-secret travel agency called "Earth", apparently. Their number is ex-directory, no publicity; all by word-of-mouth. You tell them what you want and they take care of everything. Everything. They even offset your carbon emissions.
Now that's very William Gibson right there...
PS: I'll be so happy if this makes an ounce of sense to anyone else...![smile](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/smile.0d0a8d99a741.gif)
