My mom tried to kill herself.
I'm the one who had to call the police.
Her husband was there, and didn't bother.
I'm suppose to be doing something.
But I don't know what.
Update: So here's what happened. My phone is ringing off the hook this morning. We haven't been answering it, because all it is are sales people. I had finally had enough, picked it up, and it was my little sister. She told me that my mom called, telling her "just always remember that I love you". She also said that she swallowed an entire bottle of sleeping pills. I asked her if she was okay, and she told me that she didn't know because my mom and her husband kicked her out. She was just calling to warn me in case something was to happen.
So I hang up with her, and call the police, asking them to please go to her house to see if she was okay. What my sister later told me is that when the cops got there, my mom was all groggy, and kept saying "I would rather just fall asleep then get shot". Apparently she was afraid, again, that her husband was going to kill her. Trust me, she has reason for this fear, but I wont get into it.
So I'm kindof stalling to go to the hospital. What do you say in these circumstances?? I found an old picture of my sisters and I, and go to Walmart to make a pretty little copy-greeting card thing. So, we all three head to the hospital, and get to the desk, and ask if we can see her. And they say "oh, yes, she's being released. It will be just a minute".
I'm sorry, but it was my understanding that when you try to fucking kill yourself, they kinda keep you in the hospital for a while. Not less then four hours! So she comes out, released to the husband who not only caused this, but didn't care to call the police. She looks drugged up, her hair is a mess, and just yuck. And she decides to just go. Says hi, bye, thanks. Bye.
WHHHHAAT!!!?? Our hospital in town is really crappy. Almost everyone I know has had some sort of emergency that they have caused. Even my mom has almost died once because of them. I was worried that this was the case again, and went in to talk to someone. A really nice lady brought my sister and I into a room, and explained the situation. Apparently when asked, you have to SAY that you were going to kill yourself. If you deny it, they can't hold you against your will. I'm thinking about her saying "I'd rather fall asleep then get shot" is saying you were trying to kill yourself. Do the police not TALK to the hospital or what!?!?
I'm so mad and sad, and confused right now, I'm going to stop typing and go to work. I think I can handle a four hour shift.
