Speaking of Portland, (OR) I was there last weekend to enjoy the traffic snarls and Thai food. Good to get out of my usual space for while, although it was an arduous weekend spent mostly driving. Playing with a new camera and got to shoot lots of pics and some video of the gazzillion wind generators that now infest the Columbia Gorge. I may post...

Getting back into music again - have not been listening enough, which is really silly in this day of music playing devices everywhere.

Found some cool old moments from TV on YouTube - Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Nina Hagen, Todd Rundgren, Bubble Puppy, and lots more, some of which I saw live at the time (and some before home videotape). If you get to feeling...

Not much else to say tonight, except I send you all warm, loving thoughts, and hope that life treats you all a little bit better every day.

Love and Light.

Just a tiny blog tonight. I'll have more to say this weekend.

Sending all you wonderful SG critters waves of warm, fuzzy thoughts. Have wonderful sleep and strong dreams. In fact, why not start dreaming the evil out of this world tonight?

Everyone dream love and peace and equality and freedom into greater and greater focus in this world. Shine more light and evaporate the...

This mega-rant is entitled, "Life in the Castrated Cargo Cult, or, How I Learned to Relax and Love the Lies."

(Before I begin, I see I have found a way to keep people from commenting - write a really long blog!)

What is behind that clever turn of phrase is an understanding I have reached about how the world actually works (or rather, doesn't work)....

Just finished listening to some podcasts on Betty Dodson's site:

www.dodsonandross.com

There's a great audio piece called "Competitive Sluts" that covers a lot of territory, from Betty's early art school days to her year-long art and sex project with Grant (and the exhibition it produced) to cultural reasons for gender behavior today. Well worth a listen. Not many 80 year olds like her.

Oh, boy...

Monday night almost sleepy time.

Blew through another SG-1 disc today. Just can't get enough of that show right now. Have a serious crush on Amanda....... sigh..... there's one scene (another character's fantasy) where she plants a deep, sensuous kiss on this nerdy scientist, and it is soooooo hot........

Ahem! Back to the task.

Burned some sick time today (Mr. eye is healing slowly), and...

I've seen the intentional spaces before but the one that is most memorable is when I bought a wire binding machine so I can bind my own calendars for work. It came with a manual, but really the machine is pretty easy to use so I didn't open it. The next day I was a little bored so I opened the binded manual just to see if I missed anything interesting. Turns out that the first page was the only thing that had anything printed on it, it had the cover, and all the instructions on the other side. The rest of the manual was about 20 completely blank pages of printer paper.

I am glad that I recognize my parents traits, if I didn't I'm sure I would be more of a nuisance because I wouldn't know what to hold back. smile And why is it that culture is trying to make us think that we have to be loud and extroverted? Where did that come from? I'm trying to think of cool people that are quiet but all I can think of are ninjas. And ninjas aren't really people you hang out with, they just kind of show up, kill, and leave. Not so much fun. Just cool.

Haha...not exactly a place I want in my sexual repertoire.

Though I believe that girl was a teen who had snuck out for some nookie & had limited options, but I know there were better places than the one they chose. whatever

Glad that my updates were stimulating! wink

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

However, if you require some visual stimulation try this! Haha! (If you haven't already. biggrin )

Just came across this on Betty Dodson's site - great video about her (then) upcoming party this weekend in L.A.

Betty is an absolutely incredible person and broke down major sexual barriers for women. It is hard to believe she is turning 80! Unfortunately, since sex is treated so stupidly in this country, she never got the recognition that the more political feminists did, despite...

Great day. Did some family stuff, traveled a bit for the first time this Summer, ate well, and make it home in time for an SG fix and a whole disc of SG-1.

It doesn't get much better than that.

Now on to the real world so I can come back to this dream world tomorrow.

Sweet dreams and good sleep to all.

Tuesday evening rolls around and I am so wrapped up in all the planning I have to do for a major move at "day job" that I feel like a zombie. (Or, Zombie Woof, as Zappa would say.) Overdose of SG-1 episodes doesn't exactly ground me, either. Maybe some Tony Levin band stuff will help.......(Peter Gunn - VERY cool! Mancini wrote one of the best...

Really sad about Les Paul dying. I considered him one of the top three guitarists of all time. I guess if you hang around long enough, you get to see all your heroes die. How strange. Oh, well, he had a good run and he can jam with Hendrix and Stevie Ray again, (Along with all the other great musicians who've gone on....Mary Ford included)....
