Yesterday the President of the United States of America signed into effect the Military Commissions Act of 2006, bringing an effective end to the right of habeas corpus and basically turning us into a police state. While this act has gotten some media attention, it has yet to be the headline on any newspaper, or the lead story of any news program.

I've been recently reminded that there is a great deal of injustice in our world.

I think it's time to start doing something about that.

Thanks for stopping by and being a friend. Silverwolf signing off.

I started back at the Encino B&N Monday night. It was very comforting, almost too much so. There have been a few changes in the staff, but by and large I fell right back into the relationships I've had with everyone, and back into all my old work habits, both good and bad. And it's nice that I was able to just slide right back...

I kind of feel your pain when it comes to foot ball. I am a 49ers fan.

At the moment there is no fact more frustrating than the fact that you can only help someone as much as they will let you.

Sometimes I wish I could knock my friends and loved ones about the head and solve their problems for them whilst they're unconcious.

Thanks for stopping by and being a friend. Silverwolf signing off.

A master and his student are meditating in the village temple. Suddenly the master asks the student "Student, where are you?'

The student replies "In the temple with you master."

"No," the master says, "that is incorrect. Again I ask, where are you?"

The student has come to be patient with these vague, openended questions, because there is always a lesson to be learned. "I...

I rolled into North Hollywood in a Greyhound at about 6:45 last night. My Dad picked me up at the station, and we drove home. I hugged my Mom a few times, had dinner with my folks, chatted with a couple friends, and crashed in my old bed. All in all, a blissful homecoming.

And all this capped off a wonderful weekend with the Goddess,...

Who says you can't go home?

In a little bit more than 72 hours I will lay my head down in a room I've never stopped thinking of as mine.

I had the hardest time calling this place home. I guess that's because I never really felt at home here. And it's been a good visit. I've learned some things about myself and what I...

It's been a few days, but I'm kind of in this holding pattern here. So y'all haven't missed much. biggrin

On Saturday morn I roll out with a good friend for Santa Maria. We'll spend the day and night there, then I'll go Greyhound into North Hollywood on Sunday afternoon. The next few days are just filled with a few odds and ends before I leave....

Well, in fifteen days I make my way back to Los Angeles.

When I first made this decision part of me felt defeated. I had come up here to make it on my own, to try to finally break out of the rut I've been in. It's been only six months and I'm heading back to the comfort of family and friends.

But there's nothing...

I felt the same way about moving back to New Orleans. On the one hand, I felt a little defeated since I know so many people who move away only to be forced to return, but on the other hand, Tulane was the best choice for me financially and academically (or at least at the intersection of the two). I guess the difference is that I still miss the West Coast and would like to return as soon as my PhD is done. good luck, man.

Well folks, looks like I'm headed back to Los Angeles. Things up here just haven't worked out for me financially, and so I'm headed back to the support of friends and family. I do love the land up here, and even some of the people, but I guess I'm an Angelino at heart.
dogmadeth:
Best of luck to ya. Good luck heading back to Southern Cal.
