It’s still cold, but the girls on this site continue to do a sterling job warming things up. Time for some Hopeful love, because, as Yes once memorably sang, without hope you cannot start the day…

We’ll start in the kitchen, I think. This is a logical choice when it comes to heat. Whether you can stand it in @Cassiemarie’s kitchen remains to be seen.

December???

Goodness me! How on earth did that happen?

Well, where I live the ground sparkles with frost, the air bites the throat as it slips down to cool the lungs, I’ve had to buy some scrapers for the car windscreen and I’ve now just realised that the heater in the office keeps on cutting out randomly for no reason that I can tell. Hmmm....

So. More hopefuls.

I put up my previous post a couple of days ago and almost as soon as I did, a ton of astonishingly good hopeful sets dropped and I just had to do a follow-up round-up. It’s tempting to shake your fist angrily at the capricious gods of SG, but that would be silly. They are being supremely generous, after all. It’s not...

OMG this blog ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ You made me smile in some parts like "alt maid who’s more interested in drinking some wine than cleaning your house" LOL 😂 Your blog is well written, informative, fun and affectionate! I am happy to be part of it! Thank you for the affection 😍 It means everything 💕

The last week or so has seen a ridiculous amount of excellent hopeful sets drop. Here are a few of my personal favourites…
@Okkatana has a distinctive look and, if her new set Unexpected Set is anything to go by, a highly-developed sense of fun. Shot by @orangette, the set features the flame-haired temptress attacking one of those twirly candies on a stick that always...

This post is going to be a bit more in-depth than my usual round-up posts. Partly because I've got the time to be more in-depth, but mostly because there are certain sets that positively demand you linger over them, savour them and, once the initial impact fades a little, try and work out exactly why they work so well. So, here we go...

First up...

@haub I love your creativity, your enthusiasm, your passion for what you do. It's what this site is all about. I wish you every success in this new year! Make it rock!!! 😀

Dear me, this site...

It's almost impossible to keep up with the rate of release when it comes to sets and if, like me, you like to wax lyrical about your favourite girls, it's even more difficult to do so. This isn't a criticism, mind you - merely an observation that this site has a (very) great deal to offer.

As it happens, the last...

The late Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun continues to amaze, impress and bewilder in more or less equal measure. Erudite and richly written, the series has sunk its hooks into me and is currently making me curse the fact that I have to work for a living. I've just started the second book, 'Claw of the Conciliator'. It's set in a future so...

Going through the Dresdon File books again, by Jim Butcher.

Butcher is someone I've never read but have been meaning to for some time. I must take the plunge and check him out.

Anyone else watching 'Dark'? That weird German time-travelling psychological mindfuckfest on Netflix? Because maybe you should...

@haub There are similarities with ST, but they're relatively superficial. Dark is an altogether more serious show and it's grappling with more profound questions: Free will, causality, ends justifying means, whether it's ever right to screw your aunt. It's also very German. The setting is different. The actors are unfamiliar to my English eyes and, therefore, I'm more immersed in the story. It's a great show.
user0616220901:
It is indeed very german, for the topics of free will, etc. were mainthemes in german literature :) and don't worry, the actors are unfamiliar in germany as well ;)

Autumn is coming! Yes, I know. It doesn't quite have the same ring, does it? Anyway, if the weather we're currently experiencing in the UK is anything to go by, autumn is actually here. And pretty miserable it is, too: rain, damp, huge puddles, overflowing drains, rain, falling leaves turning to mulch and, well, rain.

So it's a good job this site exists. And it...

Well, the site goes from strength to strength and I find myself once more inspired to highlight four of the recent hopeful sets that have wowed, enchanted and hooked me. Below is a partial list. It's always partial, because the site puts out so many amazing sets it's simply impossible to keep up with them all. Anyhoo, here we go...

First up is @jases whose...
