I started looking into making some spring break plans today. Right now I really don't know what I'm gonna do, or who's down to go with me. I know I want to get out of New York for a few days that week, but I've got mixed feelings about where to go. Let's look at the top options I've come up with so far...
Miami
Pros: I have free Marriott nights I can use, so I only have to pay for maybe 1 night of the hotel. You can fly down for about $80 each way on JetBlue. It's warm, I"ll have been on my diet for a solid 6 weeks and might be ready to hit the beach, it also gives me another strong motivator to really kick this thing into overdrive. I can go scuba diving at least one of the days I'm there.
Cons: I feel like Miami is a little cliche, but that's only a half con. I might NOT be slim and hot by then, in fact in all likelyhood I won't be.
Austin
Pros: SXSW is the week of spring break. I have family in Austin I haven't seen in a while. I already have a few friends planning on going to Austin for SXSW.
Cons: All of the hotels are already booked solid, so I don't know how that's gonna work out. Probably have to stay somewhere other than a Marriott, so I'll be paying for a room. I really don't like Austin that much, in fact I kind of hate it, but SXSW is pretty cool.
Iceland
Pros: I've never been to Iceland, but I hear its awesome. I'm from a Nordic family, and It would be cool to go there. Rykjiavik is, by all accounts, and amazing city with a world class night life and loads of beautiful people.
Cons: The most expensive option by far, I'd most likely book a package deal through Iceland Air, they have flight and hotel packages for $500 - $1000. No marriots in Iceland so I'd have to find a hotel or a hostel and pay for it. A friend who went a few years ago in March said that it was mostly tourists in March and that people from Iceland all go on vacation over to Europe or America at that time.

Iceland would be awesome, though!
I leave the city once the month. Try to, anyways.
