The Culinary degree will be a good thing just to HAVE, at least its a useful "useless" degree. I mean, you can make things for people to eat, impress people, etc.
Once I'm done with my MFA, I'll be able to...make paintings?...great...

Anyway, Congrats! You should be proud (and its awesome that you have a great job already!)
