Wow, I can't believe Dennis and Brooke (bunny ranch) broke up.. They were so adorable together, it seemed like they really got each other to a degree. And watching them hash it out on tape and thinking of them having to work together after that, and Brooke crying and leaving.. I wish I could afford to hire her just to give her a hug. Him...

Mmmm... Harry Potter was delicious in 3D! And just about everyone was dressed up in awesome outfits - I can't believe I forgot my Harry Potter Tie! Argh!

In other news I was most proud of myself today. I walked into a bookstore and was able to put two of the three books I picked up back on the shelf. It was still difficult walking...

So I may be posting / reading a bit less for the rest of the month. My work is about to pick up to the point of being overwhelming and I need to push through it, but I'll try and stand on top of it as much as possible. Wish me luck!

Atlanta huh... maybe it's because I'm bay area. What is the fish like in Atlanta, or is it one of those places where they say, "you should never order the fish"....?
hypnokitten:
I am sure there is some descent fish somewhere in Atlanta... all I can really say though is that they have learned to make really great sauces. wink

To make up for that there is a great pizza place around here that, though fish-free, is absolutely incredible. Very gourmet, they have certain flavors that.. I just can't describe, I haven't experienced them anywhere else. They even have a desert pizza, and I am not talking about taking the easy way out and putting chocolate over pastry and making it pizza shaped, they use apricots, nuts, and some other really creative ingredients.

Yay! Back on track!

Over the past week I finished cranking out the modular window system I was working on, I'm back in track for my deadlines, feel focused again, and feeling much all-around happier. (And got a nice tidy check I hadn't asked for) Today I sat down with a new possible coder (we're testing him out) and I was able to implement a...

hypnokitten:
Hehehe - Very epic, I loved it the first times I saw it, but after a while some things just kind of stick out and dig at you, just a touch you know? *innocent*

Arg.. too much work! And just got hit with an even tighter deadline then expected and still have to make progress on my school project (I haven't met with my prof since the semester started).. My body (is that the liver? I don't know, squishy bit to the left and down of the heart) starts hurting after every 3-4th coke. I'd walk away from my...

WAIT?! wait... wait.. Do you work in the gaming industry? if you do then... cool.
Other than that wow. Sounds like you have a lot on your play bud. I'd say take the time to cool off but I don't know if you can spare it. Anyway I wish you the best and I hope all goes well. biggrin

(I'm working on becoming a game designer someday, little secret from me to you biggrin)
hypnokitten:
@Riddly - That's very cool! I can't wait to play your stuff or otherwise see which way you go with that! There's a lot of great times to be had in it if you can stay ahead of your schedules

ERG! Watching the movie 'Hot Coffee'... I know the stories are cherry-picked but damn, some of these are really sick...

Jamie Leigh Jones case - a woman hired by KBH and sent over-seas, they housed her in an almost completely male dorm unlike what she was promised. She was drugged, beaten, and gang-raped. When she went to the med unit the clinic did the rape...

*nodnod* Not only that, but after all that happen putting her in a cargo trailer under armed guard and not letting he contact anyone, as if she were the criminal? And yea, just the fact that even though we have a constitutional right to trials and courts, the fact that for eight years so many laws got passed to make it impossible to go to court and people were (and are) convinced this was for the best.. Arg.

And yea, the whole plant thing too, had friends in jail over that too, which is equally stupid. I heard in a documentary that the idea behind that one was actually that after an economic boon where a lot of Mexican immigrants were brought in to work, the government wanted to find some way of sending them back. There was a lot of pot use among the immigrants so the made it illegal and then were able to ship them off for 'committing a crime while or probationary visas' or something like that. What's worse is that they went over after that and forced other countries to make it illegal to, threatening with sanctions and other crap.

*sigh* This is why people don't watch documentaries or try to find out what's going on around them, because it just pisses them off and makes them feel helpless.

2+2=4, we hold this truth to be self-evident. Unless 2 used to be a float. Or your measurements have to tolerate a margin of error. Or you are cooking and the 2 items are different sizes. Or you redefine what the symbol 2 means. Or the objects interact oddly. Self-evident truths aren't, this should be self-evident.

You also can't compare apples and oranges. Unless you...

when was it a float? did an f at some point exist after it or maybe was it declared somewhere between the lines? Out of this whole very interesting explanation of why the tub was full of ice-cream, I got caught on the second line.
hypnokitten:
well, in c# you have to put an f after it if you are assigning it a number, but you can get caught at:
float num1 = 2.5f;
int num2 = (int)num1;
(and c++ was not that strict on enforcing the 'f' rule - even c# lets you get away with it in some circumstances which gets really confusing) biggrin

If this bumper sticker does not already exist, I want to create it:
"My dog is cuter and cuddlier then your kitten."

Because at the moment, he totally absolutely is. He is sleeping against the door and brought his paws up like he was hugging himself, curled up slightly, and then relaxed and... oh I can't even describe it properly. Just the absolute image of...
