w00t! I now have a working Linux box. It's running Slackware 10.1, and I've managed to install and run: Samba (file-sharing with my Windows box), Apache (Web server), Doom Legacy (abeit without sound), and Firefox. I'm trying to get Drupal (a web-journal program) running, but the installation is giving me problems.

I've been at work an hour, and I just got a call from the ops desk saying I'm not supposed to be here today. It would have been nice to know BEFORE the weekend! grumble grumble....

My sister has opened up her house in Denton, which she's been trying to sell for a while, to a family of New Orleans refugees evacuees. We spent most of yesterday moving furniture and housewares up there to get it ready. I feel good about that.
