I was going to update with pictures...

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
... but I'm afraid I'm having a bit of a problem with my wireless connection, so I can't use my laptop to get online, and that's where the pictures be. And I can't burn 'em onto a disc and just use another computer, because my c.d. burning programs all refuse to work properly. Bastards....

quick update, then it's football time.

i start the Starbucks gig tomorrow. i'm looking forward to it in that a) it will give me something to do and prevent me from fucking about on the internet all day, b) i'll soon have money for much needed things, and much wanted things, and c) it might give me the opportunity to meet some new people. on...

I always bought mens shirts. They seemed to be roomier and came in more colors.

I hope you can come down! My friend and I were supposed to be going on a pirate walk. ARRR!!!

The dental visit was only $46. Even though he "didn't do anything," he diagnosed me and I'm just really glad it was that low.

If I've had cold/ flu- $0 more spent on my health. If I've actually got bronchitis again, or some other crap- who knows?

I don't have plain black/ white shirts anymore either. Lots of plaid, not plain, shirts.

wow. four updates in three days. it's like i'm making up for lost time, or something.

i wasted all day on the internet doing nothing in particular.

i just found out a friend of mine (who i don't see or speak to nearly as much as i'd like) is in rehab. there's no need to hash out specifics or speculations, but it left me with...

Circumstances considdered, i'm not necessarily a big fan of most 'rehabs'. But it could be a step in the right direction. However, details aside, i hope your friend turns out for the best.

Congrats on the job. Sorry about the Uniform (sort of uniform). wink

And that shit always gets me, "so long as nobody complains?" What the fuck is that about anyway?

"Mr. Manager, i really like your coffee, but i'm having a hard time buying it here because that girl has piercings."

Oh, ok, well, X-hundred customers come in here and buy coffee daily with no problems, but since you're a prejudice bitch with no real gripes and haven't a worthwhile complaint that actually affects you or our business transactions, we'll force this person (whom we're already dressing in frumpy clothing and is doing her job perfectly well) to take out her BAD BAD jewelry to make your coffee buying experience better. Because i know sometimes that labret piercing oozes puss into the espresso machine and other times hinders her abillity to pour your mocha into a fucking mug.

Man, sometimes i love how bitter i am biggrin

And i guess i could lie to get a job. I love lying. But i think i'd rather lie to get a good job. Lying to get a scrub minimum wage job doesnt exactly make me feel that great. Although min wage here in oregon is $7.50 (or something close to that)

Either way, we really miss you too frown
When (emphasis WHEN) i get rich, i'll fly you guys out here (or wherever i may be)
thearcanecircle:
you should force mel to movie there. from the pictures it looks like you guys had a blast

sell out...whatever....a job is a job. if youre selling out, i dont want to know what im going to be if i end up getting the job i put in for...
carryavengeance:
i guess you're right, unless you work in the mall like me, and get no fucking hours and minimum wage and get paid every other week, end up spending your check on NECESSITIES in the first 3 days and you're broke for the next 11 days

i'm still in Kentucky, and will be until the third. when i return to North Carolina i'll update with pictures and such. it's been a pretty good little holiday season, despite the constant brooding and introspection that i indulge in annually around this time of year. well, fear not. i'll shake it all off and put the happy face back on soon enough.

i imagine...

the space between Christmas and New Year's Day kills me.

the last sputtering breath of the year, and it's always heavy with a tangible sense of longing. some people would call it nostalgia, but i abhor that word. it makes me think of faux-Fifties diners, and "I Love Lucy" reruns.

and these are dangerous days. the year has worn itself out, the veil has worn...

nice one!

i disagree about hating the time between xmas and new years. it's very different in this part of the world , i suspect because that period is the time everyone has off work, the weather is amazing, the beaches are packed, the sausages are cooking, and it's one long party til jan 2nd.

conclusion: you should spend next christmas somewhere hot, stop thinking so much and enjoy the time off smile

as you all know, i hate updating without responding first to the comments left in my previous journal. but i don't have much time, so i'll have to live with the guilt, i suppose.

anyway. as you can imagine, i've been busy with end-of-the-semester stuff. i'm taking an incomplete in my one printmaking class because i don't think i have enough work to be graded...

I think the Saints would do better if they got rid of Haslett. I tell people that I sometimes judge players but rarely try to judge coaches, since there's so much going on there (behind the scenes and otherwise) that I feel I don't have the expertise to judge coaches. The only two I actively denigrate in the NFL are to some extent Haslett (I just feel like they have more talent than their records under him have shown... but that's guesswork) and especially Mike Martz (he inherited a Super-Bowl-champ with a crushing offense and improving defense and has merely lost one Super Bowl since, plus I've seen him make actual bad choices in games [punting vs. field goals, stuff like that]).

Sorry to blab... but that ^ is really the full extent to which I will badmouth any coach.

It is easy to want to spend a lotta cash now smile but I see my Visa bill is about equal to my Xmas money, plus my car insurance bill just arrived.
