I understand why some people are patriotic. Whether you are a native of Brazil, Canada, England, France, Germany, the U.S.A. or any other country, I understand why you may think your country is the best or at the very least, great, and that any other country is of lesser importance. @chef  I agree with your theory of indoctrination.  It's easy to indoctrinate some people when they don't put critical thinking to use.  Of course, some people know they are blindly believing an idea, which to them is crystal clear.  For example, some people think procreation is a duty rather than a choice.  However, I often think that literally everything is programmed.  From what we think about patriotism, religion and everything else and what we communicate to how often we see a shooting star or how many times our hearts will beat in a day.  I can't prove that idea, but it resonates with me the most compared to any other theory I've heard about life. For now, I'll continue to wade through the muddy waters of uncertainty, at least when it comes to the source of existence.
