I find myself asking the question "has the world ended yet" every time I log on to a news site. It's not that I want it too, none of us want it too, it's just we seem to exist in this continual state of limbo with our reality. I find myself not being able to relax completely because I know how fucked up everything is, but then at the same time not being able to get upset enough because it's the same shit that has been going on for years.
Limbo.
I've got this experimental body of work that is dealing with over-saturation of media culture, and the kind of mental blur it creates. It seems like honestly short of the actual Rapture, nothing can surprise me anymore. Until the sky starts raining fire, and the god's flaming chariots of death decend from heaven, while Jesus' lazer vision purges the sinners, I think I will go on feeling this way. What an interesting realization actually! That we have been so saturated with "news", "thrill", "imagery", that it all blurs into one reality. That we keep having to squint our eyes just a little bit more in order to actually see something of value....

I made it back from Madison without getting sick, only to return and fall ill really quickly. I haven't had a fever in years, and I was bed ridden for two days. We're thinking I was above 106%. I don't think walking the streets of the city at four in the morning talking with homeless people, and activists helped, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
This is the first day I feel even slightly better.

I returned ot this site the other day only to find out that I got kicked out of the WorkingArtists group by the owner while I was away. No warning, no justification, I just came back to check a conversation I was in, and then boom, I was booted. Went to ask why and found out I was on her ignore list. Odd, I really didn't say anything that warrented booting me from the group. Even if I did, I REALLY didn't say anything that justified no warning! But hey, let's not kid ourselves SG is far from egalitarian. This site has just as many heirarchical tiers as the society from which it was spawned. People take access to power in odd ways, and this site has taught me a lot about the creation of an elite group where there was no group before. This site, and the internet as a whole have taught me about what this can do to a persons ego.
Some people handle it great. Others go ape shit with their first chance at being powerful. They use their status to dictate the course of events, to mold the future of their environment. To avoid difficult sittuations they simply raise their pink/iron fist... Hit the "save" button and create their own form of censorship/purge/intellectual genocide. Virtually of course....

life is wierd. it seems to be made up of a series of paterns and events that simply keep repeating themselves in differing arenas. Will we ever kick all these bad habits that our history has given us? I don't think we'll honestly find out until mother nature finally decides to clear her memory, and hit the restart button. Until then though I'll just keep checking for updats on CNN.com.

It's weird how with the emergence of the internet, a Whole New Universe was created. a whole different plane! with its own hierarchies, etiquette, rules, monitoring and the like. did we really expect this? or want it? now, unless you're a person who's fluent with computers and the internet, you're a nobody! anyway. I'm kinda just droling on and on and on and on...
