3 days in a row i had talks with 3 seperate friends about how we've all been thinking about quitting this fucking country if Bush gets reelected. It was a strange moment when I realized we could sell this house and have enough for a house in Costa Rica.

But then I thought, if we leave, we can't just come back when things are better....

I know Bush is a big problem, but there is really very little that is right with this country regardless. Look what happened in California. Do those people realize they are being governed by a clown? I have thought about leaving the country on several occasions because of the lack of social conscience of our citizens, the high crime, the poor education. Not that I am looking for a people with a consicence or looking for a better country. I just want to get away from it all and live in peace. I know it is the chickenshit way out, but I am fatigued and worn out. The fight is worth it, but peace for my son and I is a higher priority right now.

it pleases me that info about bush evading military duty is finally hitting the press.

granted, if pressed into service, i'd evade it too, but at least it wouldn't be because i was a coward with a rich and well connected daddy.

what scares me is that all these pro-war hawkish americans will vote for a rich kid, deserter over a decorated war hero. kerry...

Ooh! Since when do you keep a journal. Yay for that. I just went back a few entries and read about your hemp hoodies. Haha, I've never had Seitan, but might want a hoodie when I move back to the states.

I actually wrote a big article for a website about a popular kid's show, which is supposed to be about natural fiber. It basically goes like this:

Cotton is Evil
Linen is Less Evil
Hemp is God.
Don't smoke your shirt!

I'm a bit worried that they'll censor out my hippie dogma, but I really just presented a blaancd article. It just so happens that hemp is the obvious choice, and that the cotton industry headed an obvious conspiracy to overthrow the superior competition.

Fellow Vampire Killer,

I get what you were saying about my comments now. I read the editorial from the first mag about the reasons for starting it. And I see how one thing you didn't count on was the need for people in the "vegan diaspora" (ooohhh I like that) to feel that connection to each other,; that they're not alone, no matter where they are, and to get that moral and morale boost. I got it when you asked the veggie list how the list affected them.

I'm glad you're seeing this unintended side affect. It was something the internet promised, and rarely delivers, no?

holy smokes.

i just spent $3700 i don't have on black hemp/cotton hoodies. like 288 of em! the hemp part is nice cuz conventional cotton isn't so good for the environment, it's actually really terrible, so i'm happy to be cutting my contribution in half by using the hemp hoodies. but boy is it a weird financial plan i have, spend a ton of money...

haha I never watched that show.. someone I know and dislike because hes really sexists and racist is always talking about that show.. he thinks its great, I think he has horrible taste so I figure theres no need to even bother watching that show.
Oh yeah.. That stinks about your parents.. I think my mother has had to go to the DR like 5 tinmes because theyve thought she had cancer. It makes me really upset.. but at the same time, she wont even TRY to quit smoking. How ignorant! although lately she has been trying out new products from abba and avon that are vegan and non cancerous. I think thats cool smile
stina:
hah yeah netflix is good for that. Fuckers haha
yeah tattooing is legal in MA now.. it just isnt super sanitary.. but in a lot of states it isnt....
I work about 30 minutes from Juli moons shop.. far enough away from the border so that we werent effected by the MA legalization, but close enough so that the people who want sanitation still drive up smile

from the forthcoming interview in Herbivore with Ted Leo:

"if you consider yourself an artist, how can you let our art be completely degraded into just a soundtrack for a product? I dont know. I just couldnt do it."

I heard Thom York say pretty much the same thing. Something like: When you hear a song you think back to the time when the song first came out. You think back to a particular season or event. And I would never fuck that up by taking away that memory and making it into a soundtrack for a car commercial.
wigglefree:
I have the answer to that one (this doesn't happen much)

If your 'art' is being a cheeze dick sell out, then it's juuust fine.

biggrin

Maybe I have an eggshell head, it's possible. But basically, a big angry guy with a well-placed, unseen head shot can do a lot more damage than you think. Imagine a brick falling out of the sky on to your head.

He didn't go to jail, no, but this happened in CT, where they have a 2nd degree assault charge that's actually a felony. So, 3 years probation, but a felony conviction that, like my D-shaped head, will follow him for the rest of his life.
