"Unbelievable as it may seem... the dead are rising from the grave..."

I actually get to say that in a film, which is pretty damn cool in my book. Now I just need to get me a part in the feature length follow up.

Writting any kind of report sucks, big time. So that's no fun. Other than that, things seem to be reasonably peachy....

So I suck at keeping my journal up to date, but the upshot of it is this:

The PhD seems to be going quite well, first year report is due at the end of next month...

scary, scary, very very scary.

Working for the company which sponsors me is also going quite well, which is nice. Hopefully I'll have a nice job waiting for me...

Well, it's been a least a yonk since I went to see Batman Begins (fantastic, by the way), so it seems I've been a little lazy with my journal posting...

I've moved flats in the intervening time, to a much nicer place. I also spent a week house sitting my friends' flat while they were in France, and looking after their pregnant cat... and then...

I had meant to update a couple of days ago, but I've been quite ill. Since graduation day in fact, which sucked.

So anyway, on Wednesday I was tapped on the head with a pair of John Knox's trousers and then they handed me my degree certificate (the plain one, I've sent away for the fancy latin version). The day itself went quite well, much...

Yesterday I had my first taste of Mountain Dew in 8 years. We could get it here for about six months and then (while i was in america and drinking it by the crate load) they withdrew it. So I bought some from an importer and damn, I'd forgotten how much I love it. This is a possible explanation as to why I was...

I really had forgotten just how much I liked the remake of Dawn of the Dead when I saw it in the cinema. I just watched the DVD (lovefilm.com you rock) and it all came flooding back. What didn't come flooding back was the jambalaya I made, 'cos it was ace.

Caught the last episode of Doctor Who yesterday and really enjoyed it. The two...

I has recently been pointed out to me that I don't update my journal often enough (hello H + D), so now seems like as good a time as any.

I've been having a lazy few days, since I still don't know when I'll be starting my PhD. The upshot of which is that I can't really get a job and my finances are starting...

And another long while between journal entries...

Results day came and went and I got a 2.1, which is okay becuase it's what I needed to get onto my PhD, but it's not what I wanted. I was pretty much slap bang on the border between a 2.1 and a 1st, so chances are it was pretty close... and that's just annoying. C'est la vie....

SIlence is golden... but I've just been lazy.

I wrote a really long journal entry yesterday, but my PC crashed just as I was about to finsh it, so I spat the dummy out and went to do something else.

The upshot of it is this: My exams are finished and I find out the results in about a week. I need a 2:1 to...

how'd you burn your finger?
sarahjane:
I did something similar to that while making a birthday cake. I had put the cake pan on the cooling rack and set the oven mits aside, then I realized it was about to come tumbling off the edge of the counter so I pushed it back with my bare hands. Ouch that sucked, but boiling pasta sounds more painful!

When my brother was crawling (he was about 2) we used to burn our garden and it was in the stage where it was like a dutch oven and he lost his ball in it so he crawled in, both hands and one foot, third degree burns! Us kids thought it was funny so we called him stubby until they unwrapped his hands.

Short update.

I'm halfway through my exams. Three down, three to go. The first went okay (despite a really unfair indepth question about the iPod), the second went fantastically and the third I'm slightly worried about, as I know I missed some stuff I really shouldn't have.

As soon as my exams finish, I need to find a way of putting a stop to the...
