Is everybody ready for some shameless self-promotion? Yes? Good!

As often happens late at night, I got bored and decided to exercise my shutter finger a bit. My digital camera can't stand being left alone for too long. Anyway, I ended up taking tons of pictures, but with some sort of vague purpose: they were meant to test the waters as far as practicing for...

My friend and I were discussing this a few days ago and for some reason it popped into my head again today.

Most women (men too, to a lesser extent) go through at least one pregnancy scare in their life. We are inundated with messages of practicing abstinence or using protection; the latter is reasonable, safe, good advice. However, accidents happen. Your inhibitions are lowered,...

Your new pics are lovely - you are far too good-looking to be allowed out of the house. You'll cause traffic accidents. Please consider wearing a tent for the safety of travelers.

I think the entire country needs to attend multiple conflict-resolution seminars. And our obsession with guns has reached epic and sick proportions.

You're right...April really has lived up to its name as being "the cruelest month." In so, so many ways...

School and I are not on very good terms right now. We've decided, despite our long history together, that we're going to break up on mutual grounds once my finals are over. We'll be apart until the end of August and then we'll determine whether or not we want to get back together. It'll be rough but I just need to go out and see...

I won't really take time off except for the regular summer vacation. I want to get my Bachelor's degree as soon as I can so I can go to grad school and do what I REALLY want to do. Except I'm not sure what it is I want to do yet: Psychology, Creative Writing, or Journalism. I could see myself as either a professor, an editor, or a social worker or therapist for children.
bloodhigh:
well good luck with everything you decide to do with all of that

You all likely know this already, but go to the nytimes.com and NPR's site for the best information on the shootings.

I am an anxious, paranoid, hypervigilant person. I have GAD so that explains it. But I've been thinking about my classrooms; there is only one I could easily escape from. Were a shooter to come to my campus, and I were in my psychology...

Thank you!! kiss

There are several tattoos I'd like to have, but the one I asked about in the tattoo-studio is this one:

The White Tree of Gondor. Perfect for a Lord of the Rings-geek and tree-lover I am. biggrin
But when he guessed the price, I think he meant with the whole tree black, and not only the lines (if you know what I mean. I'm horrible explaining things). What do you think? All black or no black in the tree? I'm not 100% sure...
anwamane:
Thanks, and I think so too! biggrin
Yeah, I think that too. At first, I didn't plan on doing more that the outlines/silhouettes before I went to the tattoo-studio... Well, I might stop by there again next week to see how much the outlines/silhouettes will cost me.

I am horrified and appalled. So far the fatality count is at 30 but with the 21 that had been injured in addition to the 21 that had been killed, so many more could die. I just can't believe it.

Anyone with a functioning brain and the ability to write should contact their congressmen about instigating stricter gun laws. This is too much.

... God this country is fucked...

Like, I don't hate the US and stuff, but I have to admit that what I just quoted you on above, was one of my first thoughts...

drunkmike:
agreed this country is fucked..... we need better gun control laws. We need a better social help system that isnt reliant on pharmisulticals.

I love watching "Planet Earth". Coolest show ever. Check it out on the Discovery Channel.

So I've been looking for a diet to try because I want to drop a few pounds before "bathing suit season" and before doing a set. This one looks like the diet for me: http://www.tapewormdiet.net/

Tapeworms sounds pretty freaky... surreal

I watch Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and National Geographic Channel a lot. Many interesting shows and stuff to learn. smile
kyki:
Oh yes. I remember when Jim was on the tapeworm diet. Wow did he look like a supermodel. Skeleton and all. Of course, he got the tapeworm in Costa Rica so his was probably a little more expensive. Maybe the costarican ones work better? Oh oh, and you know what really works (unless you don't like circles under your eyes) METH!!!

So I'm already brainstorming on what I want to wear for my shoot. I have a pair of boots (almost knee high) that I really love and think are pretty sexy. I'm want peoples' opinions on them, and whether you'd want to see my naked body with them on or would prefer seeing it with them off. I think it would look cool to wear...

Well, Kurt, I'm glad you had a good, long life. What a brilliant man you were. And I love that there's no one I've met yet that isn't lamenting your death in some way or another. I am one of those millions, and to tribute you, a quote I found that I really liked (though not from any of your novels):

"My father, like Hemingway,...
