I have so much to say but my computer keeps fucking up soooo....

1. CRITS ARE DONE! I have spent the past 4 days talking about art but the great thing I'm so proud of myself for is I was a voice in the crits. I spoke well and didn't psych myself out thinking, "What if I'm wrong!??" It's a new era

2. My first...

I really love the way the shadows create patterns in your paintings. That crit comment is excellent and spot on. Really, I have never had someone say something that complimentary in a critique. Congrats. Also, congrats on crits being over. That's always an awesome feeling.

We should definitely meet up sometime in the near future.

Enjoy your trip!

I like the sense of atmosphere in your paintings. You could walk right into them.

I have a new love, and it is podcasts. Yes, I know I'm about five or so years behind but I finally jumped on the train due to the fact that I cannot seem to get any decent radio stations on my shitty, yet beloved stereo.

I found out the P.S.1 has a podcast and have been listening to feminist artists for the past hour....

Yeah, Peyton would hold my attnetion longer if the work did not have the same aesthetic as Hockney and a whole bunch of people in that vain. It ends up reading as bored middle school magic marker art after too many of them. If the content were not interesting, I think it wouldn't work at all. Then again, my preference is not content heavy at all.

Screen printing is pretty simple. If you don't get to it while in school, just get a kit and teach yourself later. Best advice someone gave me was to get a small light table. I did, and the results are now consistent so I can concentrate on more artistic things instead of sweating the technical side.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Wtf. I didn't mean to leave a new blog but I clicked on the "blog" button thinking if it didn't show me other people's blog it would just show me my own....not a new post.

Short story:

Jenny Saville is actually pretty fucking cool, she's from England, left home at 16 and became asuperstar artist at the age of 21. Damn. Now at 37 she...

I'm totally sick and it sucks.

Yesterday was rocking until I almost ralphed on the T. Halfjack got me off the train and barely to my apartment. I was doubled over, sweating and couldn't stand up to save my life. I haven't been reaaaally sick in a long ass time and I forgot how horrible it is crying and being curled in a ball like...

My neighbors have really shitty taste in "hip-hop" music, so I decided to play Mystical in retribution.

Ok, so I wouldn't qualify Mystical as good rap but what can I say, his sexist and kind of disgusting songs get me going. I want to say to someone "I came here with my dick in my hand" and "Act cool"... I paint to it and start...

Well I guess it's good that you thought that poster was real cause it was just a project I did for my portfolio.

It actually wasn't karaoke. It was a variety show put on by Theater At First at Johnny D's. My sister's BF is kind of a one man band and he played guitar and sang. If I ever find any Paula Abdule karaoke I will send up a flare!

I'm actually dropping the class at SMFA. It was a Flash class for web animation, but it turned out to be totally based in learning code and WAY too advanced for me. I'm hoping I can get credit towards another class.

Are you getting a masters in Art Ed? That's actually what I am applying to schools for. Hopefully I didn't just ruin my good reputation at SMFA.

I've gone mad drinking coffee and reading ariel levy.....mad I tell you! There is a video that documents the slow decline, but alas youtube can kiss my ass in their uploading. Also, I've taken to calling my mother as soon as I read anything un-feminist or against health care for those with pre-existing conditions. I seriously think she is starting to get a little irked...

I have to post this article and come out as *shock horror* a Hillary supporter. No, I will not vote for McCain in the election, no I didn't vote for Hillary just because she is a women, yes I want what is best for our country, and yes I do like Obama. (Oh, I should also mention that I'm not a racist because for some...

Those screaming the loudest seem to be the sexists, or at least let the sexism get the better of them. It's like this campaign has given people the little bit of permission that they think they need to not be careful about what they say and just let the insult fly.
I don' t think that we need a feminist movement again, in the context of the 1970's movement. But, constant vigilance is neccessary so that we can have another couple of generations of improvement.
Then again, I'm much less worried about the obvious assholes than I am about the two faced "nice" people who think that they are really treating the opposite gender equally. The subtle stuff is more difficult to root out.

Unfortunately, there is alot of resentment left over from Bill Clinton's 1992 campaign, in which Hillary started out with a very strong professional career woman image, so middle america felt threatened (as if she was putting down stay at home mothers or something, when she wasn't). Political grudges last a long time and lots of people were waiting to just bash her on a grand scale.

She'll be around for a long time, so I wouldn't worry about the nay sayers. There is always someone trying to knock you off of the top.

when i was in providence living on a 3rd floor house with no a/c doing transfer studies 3-d with paper-folding assignments it was 105* at 3am and nobody could keep their paper projects from becoming soggy because of the humidity.

Apparently that lady never looked at higher education statistics, in which women are going on to post-secondary education (and graduating) at higher rates than men.

Other than that, that article is so painfully flawed that I barely even know where to begin.

Some day i'd like to do this gorgeous painting from left to right but run out of paints before I get to the right side. Then bite into my own finger and write with blood:

"This is where I ran out of money for supplies... sorry, please buy this."

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
That is... once I have some money to get supplies to start this project.

Calling the lawyer tomorrow to take my case! One thing down a millabillion more to go. BYC is up and running except for a few pitfalls along the way. Now I am going to take a minute to bitch about the social network of the art world. Everyone is kissing someone else's ass in order to get a head or appease the higher ups in...
