Hornby's High Fi was based on a record shop on the Essex Road, called Haggle Vinyl. I used to pass it every day. There's also an undertaker still in business which features in Dickens...

I know what you mean about location. It's like seeing a Woody Allen movie in Tottenham as opposed to Manhattan or reading The Unbearable Lightness of Being having never left your family farm in Luton. wink

I've Been Away

...well, not so much away as severely neglecting SG due to too much work, hanging out with my parents last week on their first London visit, lack of any good new photos to post, over-drinking, and what have you. Back I'm back now. Hi. How've you been?

On the over-drinking front, I have a killer hangover this morning thanks to fun fun...

-D. Coupland once explained a certain type of day thusly: "'Thousand Dollar Day.' That's what I call the kind of day where, even if you tell all the people you know, 'I'll give you a crisp, new thousand-dollar bill if you just give me a phone call and put me out of my misery,' even still, nobody phones." I want to take that day one step farther. Yeah, someone might might call, but I probably wouldn't answer it anyway, even if I did pay.

Hey you, enough with this pessimism stuff! Realism, I dig, but pessimism: no can do. Besides, what else do you have, if not hope?
And yes, I'm young, and I'm an idealist. I don't pretend not to be.

Tomorrow night I get a little musical slice of home thanks to Kathleen Edwards. (More stalking Canadian musicians in London for me!)

Will report back with photos.

In My Sunday Morning Reverie

...we push open the window, let the air and sunlight stream into the room. Michel Polnareff's 1966 french pop hit "Love Me, Please Love Me" is on loud, glorious repeat as we mock-slowdance in the morning light, soon waltzing in circles, faster faster until spinning eachother round, giggling uncontrollably, and finally fall back into bed where we remain for...

I just went through all your pictures and thoroughly enjoyed them. We must live close to each other, I'm about a 10 minutes walk from Big Ben! What type of camera do you own?

And yes, I agree music is so soothing, no matter the situation, there's always that one track that can help you out!

hehe, Michel Polnareff is very cool, this French singer I hate, called Pascal Obispo, is completely obsessed with him and copied a few of his acts last year.

I still haven't seen that elephant painting but I think I might just be a huge dork one of these days and take a trip there to see it!

I'd love to see the band, and I'll definitly keep you in mind for the music, very nice of you to suggest! lastfm site wasn't working frown I'll try it again later, my computer's doing weird things.

I decided I want you on my friend's list if that's okay with you!

kiss

Park that car
drop that phone
sleep on the floor
dream about me

- "Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl"

You know it's time
that we
grow old and do some shit

- "Lover's Spit"

It's a Broken Social Scene kind of night. Anyone want to come over and lie in bed and stare at the ceiling with me?

It'll be more fun than it...
