Hello All!!!

I'm back from my brother's wedding. I cried. A few times.

There are plans in the works to travel to Indiana to record the music for Mr. Spacky.

And I'm totally bored/frustrated with SG so I probably won't be around here much longer.

love your brothers and sisters

I've felt like leaving a few times years ago. I rode it out, and I'm glad I did. It's not for everyone though. Sorry to see you go.

Happy Mardi Gras!

Tonight I'm cooking up some red beans & rice, corn bread, and daiquiris. Ahhh...just like home! I also bought a king cake today from Dinkel's bakery. It's not too bad for a Chicago-made king cake.

Also, when you get a chance, check out Salome's new set. HOT!!!

And remember that even though we're partying today, most everyone in the Gulf Coast...

i'm fascinated with how people react to making mistakes. i'm always curious why people do the things they do once they've been caught erring. i personally believe it's a learned behavior -- something we get from our elders and from society.

historically our government has made some pretty terrible decisions. we know this because that's what the history books tell us: trail of tears, segregation,...

well...that's just a bit of satire. i'm actually glad women vote. for the most part they make better decisions than men do.

greed is certainly a factor in all of this. i don't think it's that nobody notices the greed. it's that we're keeping up with the jones'.

I think you are looking for a simple answer to an extremely complex problem, namely, motivation. I can think of several reasons why someone might try to scurry across the crosswalk. One, they know the law is on their side. Two, they might have no consideration for traffic flow regulation. Or three, maybe they are running late to get to their job where they will get fired if they don't make it by such and such o'clock, and in today's dwindling job market, won't have many other choices if found unemployed. But so it goes, and that is just one look at the subject.

As for people not taking responsibility, I think one hypothesis is our leaders (not just government). America has a tendancy to worship the celebrity (see celeb-worship group). Celebrities generally have money and influence, and thus are usually able to get away with things more often. People see this on a daily basis, and think that they can get away with things too. Same goes with our current government leadership, which won't take responsibility for any mistakes, really. But that is just one possible hypothesis.

Today was the first day since I've lived in Chicago that I went to the beach in the summer. I've been in every other season -- the one's where it's too cold to swim -- but today I ventured out into the calm, cool, questionable waters of Lake Michigan and layed out on the beach in an attempt to cure my infection of utter whiteness....

On Thursday I decided to leave work and go see the Barrel of Monkeys show ("That's Weird Grandma!") at Theater on the Lake then followed it up with the midnight screening of Pirates of the Caribbean in Evanston.

Friday I left work and headed over to The Hideout to see The Dollar Store Show which is a monthly show where...
