Here in the New England region it has been an epic summer for artistic scenic clouds. There were 2 today that looked like Pac Man trying to eat a dot. Yesterday I was under Blue sky, yet all around the horizon was a rampart of white. When there is a hole into the cloud and the sunlight is causing it to glow from the inside...

Thank you for this post. It's honestly inspiring to hear someone's contemplative observations of local scenery. Cheers my good man 😃

Summer might have finally hit us up here.  Hope we see less rain.  Other places can use it much more.

One of the Portsmouth NH theater groups is stageing of an adaptation of Christina Rossetti's "The Goblin Market". Very stripped down: just the 2 actress/singers and small ensemble keyboard, percussion, violin & cello. The goblins were left to the imagination and the reactions of the actress. Well done and worth the viewing. Fun discussion afterwords on the difficulty of being on this side of the...

That really sounds lovely; the play and the discussion that ensued.

Oh Lord, I do wish I could justify a trip to the US of A just to get a tattoo. Not sure I can, though...

2 Fridays back while making my deliveries in the Worcester Mass. Area and listening to WICN ( .org & 24 hr Jazz) they played a selection from Tony Bennett's new album, so impressed that I went out and got the CD on that Sat.. He and Lady Gaga do an excellent collaberation on the standards. While I might not go and get any of her...

Leaveing out for Saratoga NY in a few hours, to catch these guys on Tue.
Going to do the tourist bit around the upstate area.
Mon. takeing A. to Howes Cavern for their adventure tour; a more splunking style
of tour as opposed to the walk through for the regular customers.
Then whatever strikes our fancy. Back on Friday.
Today got some good input on...

If I still had health insurance, I'd have already seen a specialist about my leg. I'm getting mixed opinions about the cause of the pain. I have a feeling it has something to do with an injury sometime last winter that was no big deal at the time and became aggravated recently.
wsoxfan:
The part of my body where I was hit negligently is nowhere near where my pain is. In fact, I never get hit there, or anywhere close to that spot.

Just knowing what the problem is will probably cause meto feel better.

My goodness! The outpouring of love for me by my friends here is humbling. Knowing how precarious your finances have been accompanied by your generous offer is causing me to get a little choked up.

I've didn't post my latest blog with the intention of soliciting anything from anyone. The responses have been wonderful, however.

Feeling better today. We're two of the oldest geezers here. That's something to be proud of, in my opinion.

"it's just normal political rhetoric..." No one wants to be responsible for their words, or actions, preferring to let someone spin them out of it.

I wish someone would pull the lever on the tank and flush our political toilet.
Term limits in the House and Senate (no one should spend 20+ years there), dissolution of the existing parties (they are already fractured beyond recognition), campaign budget limits (there are better ways to spend hundreds of millions of dollars), and the end of lobbying within 100-miles of the Capitol dome (or at least sponsorship patches on the politicians).

I'm afraid this country is going to explode, and you won't merely be "re-enacting" anymore...
silversurfer:
You might have seen this already, but there's a big discussion of the Tucson shootings on the CE board, including whether or not there was a "Becket effect", and also including some talk about gun control.

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords among at least 12 people shot.

Merry Christmas to you, my friend! And lots of Yuletide warmth and love. May 2011 treat you with joy and peace.

I wanted to watch the eclipse, but we were in the midst of torrential rain, so neither the Lady nor her veil was visible... *pout*
