Bah, so I'm writing this as soon as I get back from the Dawning, but it's not going to be posted for a while because the router we have isn't working, so only one computer in the hyouse can connect at a time and currently that honor is going to Jared, who's playing City of Heroes, which is ok because it's an awesome game.
So.
Stephen hates job-hunting. Fortunately that's not a problem anymore. After much deliberation I've decided to take classes instead of working this summer, partially because I'm behind in the total number of credits I should have. So first session I'm taking Life Beyond Earth and History of Korea. LBE should be awesome, I was planning on taking it next year anyway. And history of Korea will be cool, especially since I'm taking History of Japan in the fall. Second session I'm taking Sociology 101 because I can. And I'm taking Greek Mythology, which will be a lot of reading, but will also be awesome.
Dawning was awesome. Lyle showed up and Lyle's cool. Rupa showed up, which is awesome because I miss her and I thought she was in Jersey. Hooray for that being wrong. Kim's show was good and she danced up a storm afterwards. She has a very unique dancing style that's very cool. I talked to Cory a lot. We talked about Eliza (spelling?) and her dangerously pointy stillettos. I'm impressed she could walk in those, much less dance. Shakti was there and I didn't get to talk to her much, but I got a big hug and that made my day. She also introduced me to Deepa, hooray. Speaking of which, it seemed like something crazy happened sometime tonight that upset lots of people, but I have no idea what. I hate feeling so out of the loop. I hope it all worked out well.
Skunk was very confusing. I'm used to him being fairly hostile, but all throughout tonight he was happy and cheerful and saying hi to everyone. I'm not entirely sure what's going on, but that was kind of cool.
I somewhat learned to stomp today. My own dancing style involves not a bit of stomping, I think because the first person who I decided to start emulating was Amelia. Since then I think I've incorporated some Laura, Cory, Randy, and Shakti...with maybe a smidge of Deepa, but never has stomping come into it. But there were some songs tonight that required stompage, so I tried to learn.
I like the pants I have, but I really only have two pairs I ever wear to Dawning and that gets kind of old. So I'm hoping that pretty soon I'll be able to make myself some more nifty things. Any ideas?
