Today has had both much joy and much sadness. I both worked and drew in the morning, until 1 when I went to my SLFK meeting. I got back in time to MELEE for a couple hours and that was awesome. Except Whit. Whit is a dangerous boffer. Not in a good way. Anyway, I came out of them unimagineably dirty. I took a 30 second shower to clean that up a little and discovered that as my adreneline went down, I found lots of little hurty bits all over. A heavy bruised toe or two. Both hands beat up. A cut on my left hand. Abrassions down both forarms. Some red marks on my chest. But not the terrible wound to my side. Nay, that was not earned in honorable combat upon the Gildergreen. You see...
As day became night, I decided to take a walk in the twilight, the time between worlds. I walked through the woods when I found myself face to face with a great beast, greater than any that I had seen before. It's fangs were sharp and it's muscles strong. It pounced on me and I fought back. The wolf and I wrestle for three days and three nights, neighter of us giving the other an opening. but on the fourth day my foot slipped on a wet patch of moss and the wolf found it's opening. Its teeth tore into my side, that very side you see bandaged before you as I tell this tale. It's fangs sank deep, but not deeply enough. And while its head was fixed upon me, I delivered blow after earth-shattering blow. Nine and thirty times a struck he beast and when I was done it new it could not best me. With a final jerk of its head it freed its teeth from my side and sprang into the woods. But this was not the end. No man or beast can take a piece of me with it and not pay the price. For three days and three nights I chased it, neither of us tiring. We passed through streams and over mountains until we came to the end of a canyon, and the wolf had no where to run. Before it could bare its fangs I was upon it. This fight lasted only three a thirty seconds and when I was done, the piece that had been taken from me was no longer with the wolf.
...and then the day went on. Laura got back and that was awesome. But...sad. Kudos is dieing. We'll miss him. You should check out Laura's journal for the full story. I subsequently worried about disease and such and have changed the water in my big tank and it looks much better. I even found baby guppies They're safely away from their hungry parents now. Wouldn't that be so embarassing? If your parents tried to eat you? It would. Anyway. One of the reasons I was flipping out is because Ifrit had a couple of what looked like terrible spasms so I immediately started seeing grey spots on him that are basically just old age I think. They're certainly not fungal or new. But fortunately, I think the spasms were just hunger pangs. I saw him lunge at a guppie, which suprised me because I've never seen him eat them. He mostly goes and eats them at night when they're asleep. So I figuered he was really hungry and heared a fish his way, which he promptly devoured, hooray. I haven't seen him spasm since so I think that was it. Keep your fingers crossed though. In the other tank, Shakti, Deedlit, Jazz, and Blur are all doing well, though Deedlit is still not swimming and I'm going to have to start misting her soon. newts need to be damp, whether they want to swim or not.
On a small, last note, GMU Katie causes me great duress. I'm not entirely sure why, or why I'm so suseptable to it from her. The only other person I have ever reacted this sensitively too (in terms of being stung by teasing) is Lauren Hoffstetter and I don't know why she got to me like that either. it's vey bothersome.
Anyway, I need to wake up early so Laura and I can go back to noVa to eat with the rents. Then it's back here for some HARDCORE MAGE.
