Ok, so if you ever want pets that will strongly bond with one another, bring them home from a shelter and release them in the same room at the same time. I mean, I knew that, but it really is amazing to witness.
The male, I just call Silver is a ticked tabby.
The female a tortie. I kept her original name, June.
Yes, I'm going to go on about my cats a bit here like a crazy cat person. fair warning.
I got them from a shelter at about 1.5 yrs old each. they are not from the same litter, but they are inseperable now.
yin and yang they are.
Silver is a sweetheart. he's a male cat and maybe not the brightest all around, but he's a great cat. never uses claws, and becomes a complete ragdoll in your arms too. he makes chirping noises but has started to emulate his sisters yowling recently unfortunately.
June already had a litter by the time she was 1 (now spayed), and as far as we know was witness to her original foster mother's violent death at the hands of that woman's boyfriend. I only wish I was making this up.... anyway, this event is what compelled me to visit the animal shelter where the woman had worked, and bring a couple home, but I had no idea I'd be bringing home one of that ladies cats actually. I'm glad I did.
Anyway, the little thing has had enough excitement for any one's lifetime already, and as far as I'm concerned she can spend her remaining years lounging in the sun if that's what she wants.
She seems completely unfazed by loud noises despite having excellent hearing. she was out hanging with people like she owned the place the first night I had her home. she is neither social nor anti-social.
if you know the tendencies of cat breeds, I'll just say I'm a huge fan of torties.
there, end of crazy cat person rant.
