After a rough day at work, I figure I will unwind tonight at Sin City.
No, I'm not heading to Las Vegas or watching the movie based on Frank Miller's stories. I'm heading to Club 23 for their Sin City night, held every second and fourth weekend of the month. Truth #1: I hate meat markets and clubs. Truth #2. I love Sin City.
Now, for those of you who do not live in Vancouver, or for those of you who live in Vancouver but have never been to SC, I guess I should tell you a bit about it. Basically, it is self-described as "Vancouver's premier Fetish Night." Which means that rather than waiting until Halloween for an excuse to dress up, you can get into the mood with leather, lace, pvc, fishnets, vinyl, or any other hot and sexy outfit your mind dreams up. The only rule is not street or casual wear. No wonder I love it!
I first attended SC in January, 2008. As it was all new to me, I was nervous - probably more when I saw a film crew running around. Turns out Fashion Television was filming a story on SC that night too. I went with a friend, a cool petite brunette with Page bangs and ink and steel for the masses. I trusted her judgment and guidance in luring me there, and of of course I dug the scenery. Thing is, despite the semi-nudity, the place seems mercifully clear of the lewdness of most meat markets. My comfort level there is off the charts, since everyone seems to want to not just have a good time but allow everyone else to as well. I'm no dancer, but this is the only venue in Vancouver I go to and dance. Miracles, it seems, never cease.
Anyway, time to get ready to head there, hang out with my growing kink crew, and forget the hell that was work today.
Who knows, maybe someday I cam see you there.
