i got back from download festival yesterday and for some reason decided to join SG. not sure why tbh!
download was ace, not as hot as last year (which is a good thing!) and i think i enjoyed it more. there were a lot of cool bands playing, i only got chance to see a few of them...velvet revolver were great, and it was good to see dream theater again. they were the first band i ever saw properly 3 or 4 years ago. dragonforce were amazing as well, if only because of their obvious excitement for being there. i've seen them 4 times now
korn were cool altho the second stage 'tent' was so packed that people climbed the columns holding up the tent and others pulled away one of the barriers at the side to make more room.
iron maiden were probably the highlight. i don't know any of their latest album so i felt a bit left out for the first 40 minutes or so, but when they got into the older songs from the number of the beast it was amazing! everyone was screaming along. there must have been maybe 60000 people watching them! if not more!
so i'm back at work tomorrow, for 5 days in a row, maybe more i can't be arsed. my digi slr is away for repair but i still have my film slr and 6x6 to be going on with. i need to get photographing a load of gigs, i've not shot many gigs recently.
so i'll go do that now...when i've had a sleep!
