The weather is getting nice. I ran 6 mi starting at 6am this morning and as I headed west I could see the sun hitting the tops of the snow covered peaks and the red rocks. The sky was pink and purple and the whole world looked awsome.

Such is the life of the guy who works in the kitchen!! Tough gig, I know!

I spent 15 years working in restaurants...met my honey back in the day when he was a chef and I was a waitress! AHHHHHH, the good ole' days wink

Time for some resolutions. Last year worked out pretty good so I'll keep doing those plus a drastic cut on the caffeine. Half maybe. Only 25 to 40oz of coffee a day instead of the usual 50-80.

I feel pretty safe saying I'll not be doing any races. Too many other interests that have a much better 'pain input : fun output' ratio. My goal right now is to get to 4 miles without walking at all. Later maybe longer if I can bring the speed up. I just want a daily workout of 30-45 minutes I think. Right now you'd barely be warmed up before I'm done. Today I'm going to try the sidewalks instead of dirt, see if the dog gets too distracted or not. It sure would be a benefit to go right out the door instead of getting in the truck, still finding out what I like best. I think I've stopped coughing up phlegm, I don't remember any yesterday!

We just bought it also, we have all 4 of them, ...and we have 4 wireless guitars, a 37" LCD flat screen, and rarely turn on the cable now ...

Congrats on 5 years. I always thought trail running would be more fun than jogging along the sidewalk, but I've never done either really. A couple months ago my sponser started a hundred miler with nearly new shoes & had to drop out at 70 miles due to blisters. He has done at least one in the past that I remember. I don't ask him for advice anymore because anyone who would want to run for a hundred miles has serious issues. When is the red mountain trail race? As far as I know he's going to be working or volunteering there in some manner.

I'm definitely still thinking about doing the Vegas marathon. A lot of it will depend on if I think I can get down there in December. I have my fingers crossed.
I will be running a marathon in Kelowna this weekend so hopefully I'll have a new race report up soon. smile

Happy birthday!
yourdaddy:
Hope you had a great day. Did you get to go out or did you have a great time at home? I had dinner with 4 of the kids and the oldest one is getting together with me tomarrow. Just to have my kids care about me is all I ask for. One of these years you and I should celebrate together. Happy Birthday.... smile

Thanks.

I did not do it to lose weight, I did it to detox and start eating healthy... that is working.

have not got on the scale, but I know without dedicated exercise, I will have limited success.

Tendonitis rules. The more I run the more I want to climb stairs, until I get hurt doing that. wink Now I'm doing both.

I wish Old Vegas was still there. I had a friend who lived real close to it. Once we shot at the train full of people with bb guns from behind an old appliance.
