Welk, I decided to buy myself a month of Suicide Girls for July. I have little interest in wasting my summer journaling though.
Its been awhile since I subscribed because SG is simply too distracting when I have work to do. I cant believe how strange all my old blogging was. To read things you have written is the oddest, least gratifying dj vu. It most definitely reflects a different point in my life. In fact my whole profile does.at least most of it is grammatically correct.
Finishing my first year in DO (Oh, but I do enjoy physical medicine) school, figuring out how to get good grades, settling into my house, bills, the cold sunrises, SJ and Philly; I think (hopefully) has lent me some added insight into what is, was and perhaps will be. Probably not though.
I know there isnt much to be taken seriously, least of all myself.which is to say that anything, however trivial, can be taken quite seriously, if you decide it must. brings to mind that this whole blogging/train-of-thought thing is silly, a bit voyeuristic and probably pretentious.
Im a poor judge of these things. That should be my theme.
For all practical purposes, it probably is. It gives me a more open mind.
I still know that air hockey is fun, that lack of respect for our earth and each other fucks us all, just a little bit everyday, in all kinds of ways, and that it doesnt matter where you are or practically what you spend your time doing. You can build your own piece of heaven or hell wherever you stay. But pretty scenery and polite co-habitants do make a difference.
I finished my externship with Medical Students For Choice. Ive seen and participated in more abortions than 99% of all US physiciansand its so critically important, doing The Devils Work.
Ive been taking care of my parents and grandmothers houses. They are in Alaska, and I love watering all their flowers. I might have to take a picture of some of the bromeliads, glistening in the sun. I just feel so much better when I water their plants. It grounds me, which is especially useful before I go see patients at the hospital. We found some discarded air-plants at the city dump and Ive made them grow.
Western medicine has its flaws. It plays on the law of averages, compartmentalizes things, and while it wont keep you well, it might keep you from dying.
Im going to look at some of the interesting posts people put in the groups I like. Such a wealth of informationand the ladies of course. If I want pretty pictures, SG is the way to go, for pornography; burningangel.com
