Last week, my mom went to the ER for chest pains that radiate to her left arm. I'm sure you are thinking the same thing that my mom and I was. Heart attack. It wasn't. As it turns out, it is cancer. They found a mass in her left breast, left lung and an adrenal gland (they don't yet know where else it has spread). One of the masses is pressing on a nerve, which is causing the pain. On Saturday, I said it is a good thing she had those heart attack symptoms otherwise we wouldn't have known about the cancer until it was too late. That's when she told me she knew about the lump in her breast since early this year. Her cancer is aggressive and stage 4. Her denial may cost her her life. I share this story as a public service announcement. Ladies, keep those fantastic boobs healthy. If you find a lump, for all that is holy, get it checked out.
