So here I am at the end of another weekend. Stuff has happened this week. Some of it is even semi-interesting! ...Expectations had better not be raised by that 'semi' part.
Almost got a second job at a pizza place. I worked one night and then refused to go back, because it was pretty craptacular there, plus one of the bosses told me to take my lip ring out or cover it up for the next shift. Which, no? As if I'd take it out for that crap pay job and the only way I'd cover it up is with some Phantom of the Opera type mask. Although that wouldn't be so bad, because at least I could make up stories about my hideous scarring underneath my mask to tell the customers. Anyhoo, I remain a sandwich girl and a sandwich girl only.
Emailing some universities tomorrow about postgrad stuff. I am getting bored now that uni has gone back for most people I know, so now I'm actually getting motivated to do proper applications. And I'm finishing off a bunch of stories that I half-wrote, saved on my docs file, and then completely forgot. Wow, I'm way productive. If you ignore the three hours I spent today drinking tea and reading the sunday papers.
Saw Like... Alaska on friday night at the Cambridge with scorpius_cat. Man, I like that band. Good stuff. Got a little intoxicated, cartwheeled along King St, ate a slice of a random's pizza, saw a mad catfight at macca's. It was eventful. Sat night was spent finally seeing Watchmen. I am, as always, a bigger fan of print media so I wasn't expected to be super-wowed by the movie, but I enjoyed it a lot. The opening scene credits were fantastic. And one of my favourite lines of all time was in there, although I guess there would have been a riot by Watchmen fans if it wasn't: Ozymandias: "I'm not a comic book villain. Do you seriously think I'd explain my masterstroke to you if there were even the slightest possibility you could affect the outcome? I triggered it thirty-five minutes ago." Ahhhh, the reasons I love that line are legion.
Today I went for an early morning swim at the beach, made a fruit salad for breakfast and then, like I said, chilled with the papers for a while. I feel healthy. It's a weird feeling for me. I feel a little compelled to go eat an entire bag of chips just to get back an ordinary junk food state of grace.

Oh, I agree. I welcome a zombie interlude just about any day of the week, hah. You've got a copy of Brooks' Zombie Survival Guide, I hope!
