So, is anybody else wanting to ask me this? I've had it put to me several times since the Kenya announcement.

"Why do you want to go to the other side of the world to help when there are so many problems here?" One even added, "like in West Terre Haute."

This is a question that initially had my mouth...

It doesn't sound like your very helpless to me, you've got your shit pretty figured out. Thank you for the hard work and hard thinking you've done and are going to do. I know you realize it but it's appreciated. We can still help here, but we need voices like yours to be heard. Thank you for the kind words and very very kind heart.

It was a good day today, the kind where you lose track of time to one purposeful activity after another. I was focused and intent without energy-draing idleness. And of course, all that focus comes back to Kenya.

I've been declining the option to leave work early in order to keep building funds. I got a subscritption renewal notice and...

I've hinted at the idea since January. Many of you know that my brief jaunts around the world have only aggrivated my travel itch and left me unsatisfied. Now, the bigger adventures will come to fruition. I've applied to and been accepted by a New Zealand-based volunteer network to take my nursing skills abroad. I'm expected in Nairobi, Kenya on the...

Whoever claims the body of Anna Nicole Smith is not my buisness. Whoever gets custody of her child is also none of my fucking concern. What is the news media telling me when they flood airtime hours with this info?

They're saying, "Fuck you. By monopolizing this valuable time with something so trivial and distracting we can keep you from thinking and learning about what...

Tonight, on a whim, I tried to locate a girl whose been on my mind. Didn't happen. No biggie, just the mild frustration of my precious, transient gumption being stymied. So without hesitation, or a hint of irony, I proceed past my house to Kroger for 1.75 quarts of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. The comedy of this didn't hit me for twenty minutes...

I love my Oliver wine. I just might be a wee bit drunk right now. But it has certainly been a productive drunkeness. Amid the fervor of the holiday season, the commercial push to horde and buy, I have taken to cleaning out my closet.

No, I'm not coming out. Though many insist that day is coming.

I am in a push to simplify. Goodwill...

p.s., did you get my email about the sailboat scarf? it was asking if you would like me to send it now, or wait and just deliver it to you in person when i come home for the holidays next week. smile (if the latter i can give you a $4 refund for shipping)

There are a few things that I know about myself. I give great hugs. I'm not the best listener at times. I do good back-bends. Also, I handle death well. It's one of the things that makes me good at what I do. I accept death for what it is, and I know too well that there are several hundred worse things that can happen...

you should see this lady we have in our unit right now. she came in with compartment syndrome in her abdomen... so they opened her up. she's got a huge abdo wound almost a foot by a foot in the middle. another wound about 6 inches deep and 4 inches long that tracts all the way to the big one in the middle.... AND she's developed a fistula draining bile that connects to the other two wounds. it was insane to look at it this morning.

FREAKIN HUGE.

I feel naked without my beard, but change is fun. I look like so many lesbians.

Those shoes don't work for you.

I work in an ICU and play with 3rd world livestock. Let's just assume I'm a vector for everything.

My tax return is enough to fly me to and from Thailand again if I so chose. Three cheers for '0' dependants....

Hi there! I'm back on the site. I've been myspacing. Still am. Say what you want.

I've just returned from 22 days in Thailand and Laos. It was just too amazing. The history, the countryside, the people, the geckos... Seriously. You couldn't get a room without a gecko on the wall.

Louang Phrabang, Laos; I've never been in a place where any given person is...

I have a terrible confession to make...

I've been hanging out on MySpace. There. I said it. It can't offer me all the wonderful things that the Suicide Girls do, but it does allow me access to more people.

I'm sorry if anyone feels betrayed, but all my friends were doing it! The pressure was enormous!

I haven't abandoned SG by any means, but...

I don't mean to be antisocial everybody. I've been scarce for a week due to school and work. It all gets so much easier in 6 weeks. Its very circumstancial. Don't think that I don't love you all!

Later tater.
northstar:
