I got my digital camera delivered the other day, and I can't leave it alone. I keep picking at it and picking at it. tongue

Here are some things I shot. All the green things are my babies. I reared them lovingly through the summer. I breastfed them water and nutrients twice daily. I inspected them with a careful, loving eye. And I battled hungry birds...

Yeah, dude, she's like a total rock star now. Well, or at least she likes to think of herself as one. Her band is called The Licks.

Yah, new cameras are always fun. Yeah, I think I might just blow my savings and get a macbook, I am debating between the pro series too, the thought of all that computer power makes me a little giddy ;-)

Picassa is ok, it is tough for me to use though cuz I deal with raw images, which can be fairly large, google didn't design it for that I think, it is more mainstream.....thanks for the info on the other prog. It will be useful when I do get a Mac.

Enjoy your Monday, I have been working with all pics from this weekend and seriously about to kill myself, something about the hum of the computer that really zonks me out.

biggrin biggrin ooo aaa

The weather in New York continues to pique my ire. I don't know if that's actually a cogent expression, but it sounds good to me this morning. And I don't even know if "cogent" is the correct word to use in this context, but I'm bending the ol' language rules a wee bit. It's cold here for Crissake, and we haven't seen the sun in...

I actually have lucid dreams more often than not! It is seriously one of the great joys of my life. I know that sounds dramatic, but to be able to make myself fly, and do other impossible things at will is just freakin' fantastic.

Wow, I sound like a huge dork.

I just watched Happiness, and maybe I'm just really twisted, but I fucking loved that movie! I think it has replaced Mulholland Drive in my book as the all-time most surreal movie (well, I'm sue that's not the gospel truth, but I think you catch my drift). Philip Seymour Hoffman was brilliantly sad. I so wanted to believe he could fuck someone hard enough...

happiness **shudder**, now i guess i'll have to see it too.
i'm glad to see the pic of mary pickford, your super8 movie really does recall that era
i got a macbook - top of the bottom of the line, if you know what i mean. its scrumptous.
sorry to hear you're not feeling well. i want to see you one of these days after work.....
surlymike:
That video is compelling, you know. smile

I enjoy the work of Tod Solondz, but, for some reason, I don't remember much of Happiness though I do seem to recall seeing it.

How are you these days, Ho-ster?

So I just got a roll of film developed the other day. On our last flight back from Ireland, we bought a funny little camera that comes in a plastic case, which makes it suitable for taking pictures under water. It was only 10 euro so we thought, what the hay? It came with a roll of film already loaded, but it's not like a...

It's a beautiful day in Brooklyn today, and of course, I'm indoors, taking it easy after being up late last night for a Spielerfrau show. That's one of the bands my husband's in. They played at Crash Mansion, in the Bowery. They didn't go on until midnight, I think, and I was pretty buzzed after drinking while waiting around for the first round of bands...

That's all fine, but don't forget the wrath of winter....

And as far as visiting us, you should pick out a cheap flight when you guys can come up and we'll work around it.
Summer's passing us by though.
It's gonna be too cold for the swimmin hole.
At this point I would almost say (but not quite) that you should wait till winter, and go skiing with us.
Or sledding.
Or skating.
But Fall is really nice, too.
Just no swimmin.
And the nice part of Fall ends around Halloween.

see? i knew the hair would be hot. how cute! i need to find a no-hassle shorter style for immediately following the ceremony thingy. it's easier to do short if you have some curl or wave, i think, because it adds its own attitude. mine is stick straight and heavy.

well, i really don't want to leave sg, i just feel silly keeping this when i'm never on it. but it's not like i'm that strapped, and i'm sure i'll have more time soon. better to keep this account then cancel and have to start a new one later...

honeymoon... not exactly. we're going to drive down to my aunt's family's lake house for a couple days immediately after. nothing to do there really in october except veg and read and play pool. but it'll be nice to have some peace and quiet. if we can't hike, we;ll just stay in and watch movies or read or sleep or DO NOTHING. eventually, we might take a longer trip. if he gets a passport and we have enough saved up. why didn't you go anywhere? ever take a trip later?

Okay, at the risk of being one of those uninteresting folks who does nothing but post pictures of herself (I'm being self-deprecating so I can beat you to the punch!) Here is a new (thrift store) shirt I got, and try as I might, I couldn't black "Dallas" out to save my life, but the main message overshadows the Dallasness of the shirt. Well, you'll...

oh you DEFINITELY need to try some Rhubarb pie!! I'm one of the few, but I LOVE it! You might want to start out slowly though, with a nice strawberry rhubarb. smile

Surely you must have a photo of yourself dressed like Madonna?! C'mon!
That does sound like an easy costume! When I was a kid, pre-Madonna, the equivalent was to be a gypsy....use your mom's flowing brunette wig, a bunch of her crappy ass costume jewelry and a flowing skirt. Voila!
This is what she always wanted me to be, since it took zero effort on her part! I on the other hand always wanted to be a cat. miao!!

I went to Coney Island this past Sunday with my husband. I was going to go on Saturday with a couple of friends, but it ended up falling through. Which is just as well because going to the Siren Fest would have been a drag. A hot, crowded drag. None of the bands piqued my interest anyway. Since there will be supposed redevelopment of the...

see, i thought everyone knew what the ceremony was all about because i posted something on it not long ago and lots of folks commented. yes, we're getting "married" but, i'm like you, i have lots of hang-ups on the whole institution. our ceremony isn't even remotely traditional and, in fact, some of our older guests might be wondering what the hell they just saw, but i'm excited about it and we're both going into this without expecting everything to change afterwards. we love each other now and we like our lives together, we're basically just telling everyone why in public.

yeah, i know, Nature rocks my socks off.

and spanking, well, i can keep a straight face when i dole them out, but i crack up when i get them. it just seems so awkward, at least for my partner to do. no naughty questions, just some very obvious "okay, i'm going to try and do this right now... gotta make sure i don't hurt her...." he he. he's sweet, just a little shy about rough play.

Are we gonna ask Pastura if we're invited to the wedding?

And that would be pronounced

sigh - FAHN - uh - forz I assume.

I am very, VERY worried by the situation in Lebanon right now. My family lives very close to the airport that has been bombed several times by Israel over the past few days. Hizbollah is involved in the exchange of fire yet again. I had hoped Lebanon would finally enjoy peace and quiet, but its proximity to Israel, and the fact the south has never...

You seem very skilled at directing people what to do, Hoey. Is this a skill you've developed over time or was it just an inherited talent? I need to know this sort of information if I'm ever going to finish my documentary about you.

Any additional word on your family members in Lebanon?
afterbirth:
That was definitely NOT an uninvitation!
