I have just begun an animal rights themed photo series so if anyone is passionate about this subject and willing to do what it takes for me to realise my vision please let me know. The aim is to create a series of thought provoking photographs and hold an exhibition, the proceeds of which will go towards an animal charity, most likely Animals Australia.. The first of the series can be seen here
I would especially love to work with other vegans on this project if there are any out there. You will probably not end up looking pretty and glamorous, I'm looking for people willing to help me tell a story. The story isn't pretty. I have lots of ideas, but would also love to hear AR related issues that are close to your heart.
For this project currently looking for:
-model with amputee leg
-young attractive family - mother, father, child under 12
-at least 2 teen boys or baby-faced men
-teen or young looking female model
-anyone passionate about animal rights
My ideas include (but not limited to):
-Factory farming (meat, dairy, eggs).
-International Animal smuggling
-Domestic pet abuse and neglect
-Puppy mills
-Circus
-Caged animals
-Pollution affecting animals on land and sea
-Animals as food/products (wrapped in plastic)
-Fashion (leather, fur, silk etc)
-How disgusting consuming animal products is
-Gelatin (jelly with bits of bones and tendons in it. I don't know how to create the bones and tendons without using the real thing. Help! ideas?!)
-Road kill
-Urban sprawl taking animals habitats/food
-Horse/dog racing
-Animal Testing
-Fishing/other 'sports'
-Mulesing
I'm in Sydney so you need to be from or travelling to Sydney.

1) live exports? IE Cattle to the middle east? where IIRC up to 1/4 of cattle die, and others are remarkably unwell and suffer immensely.
2) Hunting at "game parks" which are stocked with often rare species of animal explicitly for rich fat fucks to shoot. (see link....antelope from a zoo, sold to a fucking private game park)

IMO, these issue more warranted than muesing. The town I grew up in was, per unit area, one of the largest producers of merino sheep, which as you know, was one of the breeds particularly prone to flystrike and thus one of the breeds muelsing was most used on. Having seen the results of flystrike, and the scale of the potential, I must say I think muelsing is less inhumane than the alternatives which until recently, economically unviable.
Muelsing is set to stop by 2010, that battle is all but finished.
Regarding Gelatin limbs. For bones use plaster. Just use a length of wire or even a bit of wood for a backbone to give more strength. For tendons, surprisngly, elastic, can work. Just glue one end to the bone substitute.
Look forward to it.
