Recently seen outside a gas station - a sign advertising "Happy Hour".
At a gas station.
Now, mind you, it wasn't cheap drinks with a fill-up, but cheaper gas during Happy Hour. Yeah. All the prices were over 2 bucks a gallon, but would drop below that mark during Happy Hour. Genius.
The cruel little acolyte of Darwin in me wished it was cheap drinks, though. Might rid the road of some wastes of oxygen and their goddam gas-swilling Sports Utility Tanks. Ah, but I'm sure once we bring freedom to the Iraqi Oil Fields (and the freedom to line Haliburton's pockets with the profits from said fields), the prices will go down and Happy Hour will go back to the bars where it belongs.
Reading Update:
Finished Poisonwood Bible. Good read. Could've used some better closure, but overall a good story.
Started a bio of the Beatles. Pretty good so far - man, Lennon was a bastard. Oh, sure, he wrote great music, had a massive impact, left a strong legacy... but he was a bastard. The way he treated his first wife is the shits. Guess he made up for it with Yoko.
Finished Preacher graphic novel. Need more. Time to go to the comix store, kids!
Writing Update:
Got me a cool notion in my head recently for a little story. Think I'll write it up as an exercise, get back in my fiction groove. More as this progresses. Anyone wants to read it when it's ready for abuse, let me know.

You pick a good subject for a bio! Lennon was a bastard sure, but he did what he could to correct his indescretions throughout his life! He had his tantrums, vents and moments of blatent ignorence! but the cool thing is that he's human like the rest of us, and to us, as fans and followers of him and his music, that means that he's that much closer, we can almost touch him as it were!
The part that really affects me the most about him is the incident with his (best)friend Stuwart Sutcliff. After Sutcliffs death, Lennon blamed himself for the cause, and I don't think he ever really forgave himself!
I'd be interested in reading your story!
