Wedding
so. I just got home (we arrived back last night) from Ireland..The trip seemed to start fairly smoothly (although rushing to the shops to buy last minute things..y'know..like a suit for Matt, proved stressful as my boy HATES shopping, of any kind) but still.. we made it to the train..which was an un-air conditioned journey to Hell lasting a blood boiling hour. When we arrived in Bournemouth, we realised how lucky we were, as just after our train arrived, someone jumped onto the tracks (quite possibly after spending time in the searing heat on another train) and this delayed all following services. aha, how lucky we were..
Instant karma. When we got to the airport (which is pathetically small, with NOTHING to do) after hanging around for 2 hours, the flight was delayed by 40 minutes or so, which meant we missed our coach from Dublin To Galway, on the west coast.. We ended up staying in a hotel in Dublin that night (unnecessary expense).. all things seemed fine.. we figured we get up for the first train out of Dublin which was at 7:10a.m. I was up at 6, far perkier than I should have been, and we wandered over to the train station, preparing ourselves for the 3 hours train ride. This was arriving in Galway at 10a.m-ish, which gave us plenty of time to get ready for the wedding.
HOWEVER...once we got there, Matt decided he needed a cigarette. And we missed the train. there was then a further 2 hours til the next one. we finally arrived in Galway at 12.15..the wedding was at 2p.m.
Of course my sister's small house was chaos, full of insane women fixing hair & makeup (my sister was definately the calmest of the lot) we made it to the church, the service was wonderful (for a church service)..she looked like Scarlett O'Hara in a blood red ballgown-style dress, and us bridesmaids were all in black.. (I'll put pics up once I get them) We spent half an hour afterwards in the Universtity grounds having pictures taken, then headed out to the castle where the reception was.
AFter the initial madness of getting there, everything else went very smoothly. If I hear Matt utter the words "We're in a castle" ever again, I'll cry.
So..fun all round. My sister's married and incredibly happy. I'm not, but still incredibly happy (although she did try to bully Matt into marrying me at some point) and life is good.
Ooh ooh and I got my SG beater through (finally..but its so cute, it was worth waiting for)

Hope the journey home wasn't as bad as getting there. Once something bad happens, everything else seems to just go wrong!
The beater looks fantastic - so wanna get me one of those!
