I was born and raised in NJ and a few weeks ago had a chance to go back and help with cleanup of the mess left behind by Sandy. I've had a heavy heart since that storm. The nation pulled together and let it be known how much they cared for an area hit so hard and so many people affected.
Then, the 12/12/12 concert came and went, and just when you thought our country was moving along and putting our differences aside, a school shooting happens. I was born and raised in NJ, but did a lot of growing up in CT as I went to college a half an hour from where this tragedy occurred. I have a lot of friends and family in that area. My heart going out to those affected doesn't even begin to describe it...
Let's all focus on those who perished and their families. We as a country need to be there for them right now. Then we can focus on how to fix this problem

Either way, it does't change the fact that people are putting their children in the ground. I'm glad that someone else knows that. Just so very senseless.
And in less tragic news... hello, new friend!
