ack...water heater started leaking sometime this week. I now have a new one AND a lot less money in my bank account. More cd's I bought this week: Stephanie Schneiderman fall sessions 2001 ep and the Posies at least AT LAST boxed set. Still waiting for my Spot 1019 order.

Okay, _thirtyseven_ made me think about my relationship to musicians or their music. Specifically in relation to Tori Amos. Part of the problem is falling so hard for someone's music at first, that all of their subsequent releases can never quite live up to that level excitement and connection. So, it's sort of like a relationship. Fell in love with Little Earthquakes. Refreshing, moving, beautiful,...

What was your favorite CD from 2002?

For me, probably Duncan Sheik - Daylight. Just well-written, somewhat moody, pop songs.

NO.

Bonus! Two Spot 1019 songs:

Sons of the Revolution

Midnight in an underground garage the Spot Ten-Nineteen is discussed
The boss man and his entourage. A scene of mutual respect and trust.
I woke stuck inside a trunk. It barely could contain my length.
Naked, soaking wet and drunk. Cigar smoke industrial strength.
Emerged a being of pure light: a throbbing mobile factory.
A brand-new...

i need a bigger aquarium once the babies are big enough to leave their nursery. baby fish are cute once they can be identified as little miniature versions of their parents....

your story reminds me of the cats that live in my brother's neighborhood: there's a whole gang of strays and this big orange one is their leader. Supposedly they killed and ate this rat that is bigger than they are (some rats get pretty huge out here). This scared the shit out of my bro and now he is afraid that he'll be attacked by the cats when he leaves his apartment.

Regarding stress of shopping for the holidays: I can sympathise. I always default to Godiva when I don't know what to buy. This year, nearly everyone is getting Godiva chocolates because illness has prevented me from buying gifts (still haven't begun shopping).

Good Luck with that though.

i'm sure everyone's been dying for another installment of Spot 1019 lyrics...

Seltzer Blue

I woke to find the speed of lightning crossed my mind coherent thought
I thought I saw things clearer, your fading glow drew nearer.
I wasted time and many things. It's such a crime what memory brings,
The things I can't remember. Last night a dying ember.
I called my friends...

Is that the book about his travels and experiences in England? If it is thats the one I'm after next. The blokes got a great sense of humour.

when i got onto meds and stopped 'suffering' so much, i gained the emotional energy to deal with some things with which i wasn't happy. sometimes i miss the moodswings and depression because it helped me feel alive. there is something to be said for the darkness. but at this point in my life, i like the stability.

Long Tomorrow

The news of the world wore heavy on his head. He knew there was no easy solution. No solution.
And so he chose to lie there in his lover's soggy bed all day to dream about the revolution.

If we put our minds together,...

Conversation between me and a very very drunk friend, while listening to "Rabbit":

friend: Oh my god!!! This song should be in donnie darko!!!
me: yes, but all the songs in donnie darko are from the 80s. jennifer terran is not from the 80s, nor could she pretend to be.
friend:....well....they could get cyndi lauper to cover it!!!

Thought that was amusing...
