I know they're done a lot but I think I want to get two swallows tattooed on my collar bone or upper back. A lot of you already know sailors used to get them tattooed for several reasons, one of these reasons being as a symbol for each 5,000 miles traveled. As a child all the way through high school my family moved every 1.5 to 2 years across the country. It did a lot to me psychologically and socially. I wouldn't say that it had a negative impact, just that it really shaped a lot of who i am today.
No, I did not have a parent in the military although my dad did act like a drill sargeant sometimes. My mother was a toy designer so whenever a company was bought out or she got a better job at another company we had to move b/c there aren't exactly tons of toy companies in one city.
I'm thinking of doing a variation on my tattoo to make it more significant to me and to stand out from other swallow tattoos. Perhaps one of them will have a wind-up mechanism sticking out of its back and the other would have some other toy-like feature such as wheels and a string to pull it with. Thoughts? Suggestions to make it better? Placement of the tattoo?
I'll try to do a rough sketch later of what I'm thinking about but don't laugh. My drawing skills are not amazing but you'll get the idea.
