Watching RoboCop for the first time in about 50 years. It was awesome then and it's awesome now. Why can't anyone make new movies this well? I'd stack RoboCop against any action movie made in the last 10 years.

This precise phenomenon (producers wanting to broaden their audience) is the bane of my life! It pisses me off. Movies that could be epic turn out to be insipid in order to be suitable for 'family viewing.' And the endless need for a love interest in every film makes me feel like puking sometimes. I say bring out the grindhouse! Have you seen the 2007 Robert Rodriguez film, planet terror? If you like undeterred violence and gore then this is just the thing. Gotta love Robert Rodriguez. And Machete...another gem.

I've been meaning to check out Planet Terror but I have kinda been neglecting to. I'm more of a vampire fan than a zombie one.The only one I've seen AND liked was Resident Evil 2. Danny Trejo is always fun to watch, even is small roles like Heat. Have you seen the new Underworld? I wasn't a huge fan of the series but after seeing the new one I may have to check them out again. Selene is an epic badass where they don't overemphasize how epic she is. They let it happen naturally, unlike thor. They zoom in on Natalie Portman and make her basically say "Hey everyone, did you see that?! Do you have any idea how epic that is? Well now you know, let me slow down the screen play a bit more so you can understand it even better. Get it? Yeah. Epic."
