I got an email today from someone representing my favorite modern composer (who passed away about two years ago) today.
"Dear Andrew,
I'm the administrator of the music written by the late [BLANK]. He died in 2004.
While doing a web search under his name, I came across your listing of him on Suicide Girls. While I am happy that he's one of your favorite musicians, his name in association with that site is very upsetting to me, especially in light of his passing. If you could remove it, I'd be very appreciative.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
[BLANK]"
Yeah. I know about his passing. I've talked with his family. I was devastated when I first found out. It makes me angry but I took the name out of my profile because I don't see the point in arguing this with the woman
I doubt the removal will have the effect she desires. I've had this person in my profile since I joined a few years ago. Google has my page in cache (fourth page of results when you google the name) and I doubt they'll be updating my rinky-dink submission it any time soon.
God forbid this musician should be in any way associated with an ACTUAL HUMAN BEING who happens to like to look at naked people (GASP). I'd never imagine someone representing a musician would discourage a fan from telling people about him. I wonder why it took her three years to finally get to stifling me. Maybe it took that long to contact and silence the other three pages of fans.
