It's been fun. As of midnight tonight, I'm out. Perhaps I'll see some of you on the other side.

Cheers,

Colin

So...I saw Iron Maiden last night and have felt so spiritually content since that I can't translate the feeling into words. I've been wanting to see them for the last 15 years, seriously!

Maiden was one of those bands that I followed religiously throughout Junior High and High School. I collected limited edition records, shirts, and posters from the band. During my Senior year in...

i've kinda come to like sg--not the boards--not most of the people--but just as a place to post stuff that i find entertaining, and to talk to the few people (*looks adoringly at bigirishhead*) that i like to talk to. i just know that i will not go to bed early enough for work if i stay on here. maybe once i get a routine going with my new job i'll be able to come back here. who knows. i clearly have no discipline for most things.
*shrugs*

IRON MAIDEN!!!!! yeeeaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!

SG Friends- "Wait! Sir bigirishhead, where are you going?"

bigirishhead- "We have beaten the English, but they'll come back...because you won't stand together."

SG Friends- "Well, what will you do?"

bigirishhead- "I will invade England and defeat the English on their own ground."

SG Friends- "Invade? (laughter) That's impossible!"

bigirishhead- "Why? Why is that impossible?...

So, while on hiatus, I decided I'm not much longer for SG. I have too much happening in my life at the moment to keep up with all the goings-on around here. There are more cool members on SG than I have time to keep up with. Thus, I'll bid farewell by the end of this week. If anyone wants to stay in touch, you...

Well, I've abandoned all efforts to become Bib Fortuna. I couldn't manage the bulbous, fucking meal worm growth-wrapped-around-my-neck thing, anyway. That or the scary teeth.

Terrific name, though. Maybe I'll save the name for the first born. Male or female, that little alien (it's ironic 'cause I've always felt babies looked like aliens) will wear the name Bib Fortuna Westerfield.

Most of the time, he/she'll...

hey! thanks for stopping by! i've missed ya!
i know what you mean about the same conversations over and over.....
you actually have a life, so sg probably isn't really "necessary" for you----unlike some of us. lol
once i find a job, i'm sure my patience for this sort of thing will fade as well.
i'd love to hear from you via email some time if you feel like saying hello!

Now that i think about it, Bib Fortuna is a crap name and should not be inflicted upon anyone, least of all your first born. Think of the children!

I've been thinking a great deal about life/death, my career, and my life's purpose lately. I feel some heavy downward pressure at times.

Last night, as I listened to "Tundra/Desert" by Modest Mouse; I found the solution to each of my philosophical ponderings and put the questions to rest with one simple thought...

"Jesus Christ, this indie-disco beat makes me wanna stand up and say...

BIH, I"m worried about you! (You know how I hate exclamation points in writing, so you know I mean it, too.) I thought I warned you about the Modest Mouse. You gotta meter that shit out. You're still on 'talkin shit about a pretty sunset.' When you finish the whole album you can move on to The Lonesome crowded West, but not before. The problem is this, the funky disco beat obscures the lyric:

"every planned occupation,
sure fire disapointment up ahead,
till they treat you like desert,
see mirages of friendship, face turns red,
here's the soon to be anchor,
building bridges to nothing,
you'll get nowhere."

So you see, your solution is wrapped up in your ploblem once again and there is the fundamental contradiction that is MM. Isaak Brock is Schitzoid, and therefore his view of the world is clear. He juxtaposes lyric and rythm, encapsulating your high and low, or in your case problem and solution. It is pure evil, intended to be studied and handled carefully.

ps I'm trying to drink away the part of the day that I cannot sleep away.

So...LA kicks my town's ass.

Sure, we have:
no traffic
no smog
no lines
no noise

But, last weekend, LA had me standing in my buddy's bar with his ex-girlfriend, watching all manner of poorly-planned nipple-ringed debauchery and cover-band song-butchering...thinking...

"This shouldn't be appealing. But...
I've never felt so at home."

Maybe the situation felt right because I'd missed hanging out with my best friend...

thanks for writing such nice things in my journal.....
btw, i looked at my pics again just now, and i look kinda old.....did i ever mention that i'm uh......i'm.....i'm.....37?
that explains the worn out look. the harsh lighting doesn't help either. okay, confession is over. hahaha
you, however, you don't look a day over 27! tongue

um, is there somewhere i can go to sign up for the "bigirishhead daily happy note"? you make my day every time!

Peculiar happenings around these parts.

I awoke from a 3-hour nap at 6:45 PM and was convinced it was morning. I thought,"I should sleep another hour; then get up for work." I know this happens to other people, but I can't remember the last time I felt that tired and disoriented. My marrow had been filled with mud and someone had bludgeoned me with a...

how was L.A.? did you play the flaming lips on four players at once?
bombshellbetty:
John Spencer's great! Definitely makes me wanna dance!

So you're gonna be an Angelino, too? I definitely have to get down there for a visit. My new roomie goes to LA all the time. She's a rocknroll photographer, shoots for Rolling Stone, etc. So maybe one of these days I'll hop down with her. Ooh, LA will be a good time!

After threats from invisigirl of a "bollocks punch (her words)," I present today's entry.

Met an Irish girl today...ahem...MET AN IRISH GIRL TODAY! love Yeah, she works at the cafe where i spend most of my tips. She's also so Irish; I could scarcely understand her or formulate a logical spelling for her name.

She was very cute and pale as binder paper. Meow!
I plan...

Big lil baby, hmm? I'm about 5'8", but I almost always wear at least 3" heels. wink On our last tour in Germany, some girl who didn't speak English very well told the drummer "I like the big black one." Meaning me. I got ribbing about that the rest of the tour!

Man bosoms?!? If you grow some of those, I'll teach you how to twirl flaming pastie tassels, too! tongue Then you can really put on a show!

sort of a "good cop/bad cop" thing going on. not sure which is which, but the big head is pretty intimidating, really.

officer bighead has permanent kung-fu grip, or perhaps he suffers from an old cross-country skiing injury. either way, those hands have probably held many a beer can to drown his sorrows--the family/latent homosexuality thing has driven him to the bottle time and time again....
he is a rookie in LIFE, for sure.
