No, this isn't some existential question that I'm throwing out there while higher than eagle tits on an airplane. I'm here to talk about why I joined SG. While I would like to join a group for new users so many of them have minimum requirements so, I'll put myself out there in the coming days and weeks in places where I can post and try to get people to my page here.
The first thought I had when I was single and looking to meet people was SG. There are plenty of "Free" dating sites but, if you join them and don't get a date out of it then it seems like a waste of time. SG offers so much more that I knew coming back was the right way to go.
My interest is to meet women but I want friends first. Part of that is a basic philosophy of romance, as written by the great poet Micheal Bolton who sang "HOW CAN WE BE LOVERS IF WE CAN'T BE FRIENDS!" (emphasis his). I don't think it's any good to be physically attracted to someone if the thought of spending more than an hour with them sounds like Hell. Beyond that is something I don't think much about. I've known people who think with their Junk (Male or Female) and after the honeymoon is over they we're miserable and crying their problems to me.
What we do when we're hanging our or just out is pretty simple. I like a night in with Netflix or Hulu because yes ladies, my subscriptions swing both ways ;). I'm big about music too. I think I wrote this on my first post but I love music documentaries, VH1 Rock Docs are the only thing good left on that wretch of a network. Popcorn, PJ's and a blanket are all I need for a movie night with a woman. Also, just picked up a PS3 recently so hey, the best gaming tech 2006 has to offer is within your grasp.
Going out is just as easy. My favorite thing to do is pick a direction on a the highway and just go. Whether we play karaoke in the car until we find a diner or just tell stories, I like driving with no destination. I've covered many miles in the years of going to concerts, away to college, off on vacation or wherever. The worst way to do any of that is either alone or with a passenger too drunk to do anything but sleep and beg you to stop a dozen times cause they need to hurl.
I also enjoy exploring the local history but not the dull whitewashed shit. No historic battlefield where we hear about the (not really) scrappy underdog American's using their might and God's Will to win the day. With only 8 Men versus 500 Redcoats, they ran out of bullets and resorted to throwing their shoes at the pasty faced oppressors. It was especially difficult as the men were also using those shoes as food rations, boiling water to make leather soup.
I live near a place called Cassadaga and I may not be as into psychics and the afterlife as some but I will make a good day of it if it kills me. I'm not cheap but yes, a lot of the fun I've had has been free or cheap.
The last big thing for me is County Fair's. A true paradise where Twinkies and French Fries can share the same fate. Where a man can win the heart of any woman by spending 20 Dollars on a game to win a prize that probably cost about Two to make. I especially like the rural kind with farm animals and "Life in The Old Days" attractions set up. A place where you can learn about what life was life back then but without the "Oregon Trail" list of diseases that usually followed.
There's more to do but those are the big things for me, the basics of being friends. If any of it sounds like something you would be interested in then send me a message or friend request. We can talk here, Facebook or wherever you want until you're ready to meet up in person. Even then, something as simple as getting coffee and talking face to face is all we need to do. Until we meet, feel free to explore my Twitter (RevBigBabyHuey) or Instagram (BigBabyHuey78) to learn more.
