Been busy moving so I haven't been on here much. Sorry's. I do try to get on to respond to any messages and to vote for my fave's MR sets, and read up on their blogs about once a week. I hate lurkers but I feel like I've become one. But that will change soon. Everything's all squared away and now, for the next 4...

I have a dream:

I have a dream that I can take a walk with my brother (African-American) and my girlfriend (Philippina) and his girlfriend (Latina) anywhere we chose, even south of the Mason-Dixon line without turning heads. I dream that one day we can hold hands without seeing the smug looks from closet bigots. I have a dream that race and gender will one...

I'm not havng lots of money neither, but I've got three different jobs with lots of very different costs, and it's quite complicated for someone like me to keep track of everything.

My Brother's Keeper: Prelude (part 2, part one begins on Oct 18 blog)

The distant sound of a boot against stone broke a silence that had become a part of Andreis existence. The sound betrayed a travelers fumbling incompetence in walking through the fog. No animal would be that loud. The question is, what hunter or traveler dared brave the mist? Even the hardiest of...

My Brother's Keeper (2nd edit)

Defiantly, the tree held tightly to its one remaining leaf. As gust upon gust of wind ripped through its branches declaring to the world that an early winter had arrived in this barren land, the lead remained. Many others had fallen that day, but the last leaf obstinately held on. It was the last survivor in a seasonal battle that...

Sooooo all last week I had to drive an hour to the far side of Syracuse every day to take this stupid class so that I can start passing meds at work. I love long car rides. There's this great Barnes and Noble about halfway back that used to be my study spot and now I'm too far away to frequent it so much so...

I don't know which is more cute: watching a baby celebrate her first birthday. Or watching a young couple celebrate their first baby's first birthday. When a family functions right... everything is right with the world.

I think the celebration all depends on what the mood of the birthday is. You see these kids throw tantrums and act like little monsters on their birthday and then you look at the parents who act the same way without realizing it. I think the children celebrating their birthday, really getting the feeling that "This is MY day and I am special" is a wonderful, wonderful thing.

Also that song will put anyone in that cuddlylovestruck mood.

I honestly hope not (curtains).

I'm frustrated. My little sister had a varsity soccer game tonight... wanted me to come. So I drive 40 minutes down to the high school they were supposed to be at and she's not there. Nobody's there. The place is empty. So I call. She's not answering her phone. I drive 5 minutes to a nearby Barnes and Noble and check online figuring she gave...
