I've decided to start running again. Not running for office or anything like that, just running.

Sounds easy, huh? Not really.

Two surgeries on my right knee and still no real ACL to speak of makes it a bit difficult. Still, I want to run.

Wish me luck!

Go for it! Pain is just weakness leaving the body!
I had planned on going running today, but it's cold out and I'm lazy.

Misery doth love company! It's warm enough to run comfortably down here....not sweating to death. Amazing how everything hurts for the first few days when you haven't done any running for a while.....

Wow, hella long time since I've been on here. I do like layout changes though.

Had an odd memory pop up today when I was at the bookstore. I found a copy of Larry McMurty's "Lonesome Dove" and I was reminded of when I first read the novel as a Marine in Iraq. The memory shows Marine humor beautifully.

So wow.......feel off the face of the earth for a while!! Clawed my way back up and looking forward to getting back in the fight. The weather is starting to cool a bit here making spending time outdoors (LOVE that!) so much more fun. So, looking to update all this here and see what else pops up!

Moving.....I despise it so. But it can be good too. Just finished moving from Houston to Austin and getting settled in. It was all very quick, a former supervisor called and offered me a job and next thing I knew I was handing in a two weeks notice and packing boxes! Austin is a pretty cool place. The weather is much more agreeable than Houston's...

Man, it is fucking HOT! This is frikkin' Africa hot, I know, I've been there. Ha! It hit 101 with a heat index of 111 today. To top that the humidity was around 55%. It's like living underwater only without the cool aquatic effect. I love my job because I get to work outside and with zero supervision but damn, it's crappy at this time...

Who here likes old stuff? I mean really old stuff. I went downtown to the Museum of Natural History and saw the Imperial Rome exhibit today. It's a touch on the small side but has some great statues and bronze work in it. Some of the jewelery was amazing, especialy if you consider it's 2000 years old. Quite a bit of the display was from...

Allrighty, on the advice of a very nice gal out here I am going to start this blog thing going. Let's see where it leads, shall we?

I had USMC reserve duty this weekend but that got cut short for me. I've been fighting an upper respiratory infection for a few days and have felt like crap. But, stubborn like I am I went in...
