I had my interview on Monday. It went. . . .well. The woman I interviewed with was candid, easy to talk to and totally impossible to read. For the first time ever, I have no clue what my chances are here.

The worst part about a job search is there is only so much you can do in a day....

So I walked to the store today to buy a burrito, some tinfoil and a male-to-male coaxial adapter. My cold dropped by to say "Hi, I'm still kicking your ass." No contacts about a job but the market is looking better.

I have a job interview setup for Monday. Wish me luck, you ravioli-heads!!

Great news!! I have been given the opportunity and motivation to find a more suitable employment situation. I'm beginning to think there is something seriously wrong with me. I'm smart, I'm a hard worker, I'm likeable and I can't keep a job to save my life. I think any long-term plans need to involve self-employment.

Oh yeah, and my dad is sick and we don't...

i know there is a great possibility of me getting hurt, but i have to do this, i cant deny her, i cant deny the way i feel about her, and just the thought that i still have a chance had gotten me out of this funk, this staring at the wall, pill-popping escapade, it has to stop

I'm ready to stop hurting. . . .it is getting very close now.

Japanese gardens are beautiful. I should spend more time there.

I am an out-of-work Information Tech professional, one of probably millions. I graduated in 2001 into what is probably the bleakest job market for this sector in its history. After struggling to find steady work for the past two years and make a career for myself, I have come to conclusion: this just isn't working. So, since the life I attempted to make for myself...

heh, i may seem together, but i honestly am not any more any anyone else. really. i don't have brilliant advice to give. all i can say is that you can make progress by making baby steps.
i think my drive partly comes from moving around a ton when i was a kid, always adapting to new situations, and counting on myself to stay amused or interested in things. unfortunately that did make me distant with people, and i am not a very good storyteller, because i did not grow up in situations where anyone wanted to hear my stories.

i have found it helpful to imagine what my ideal working situation would be, and then take little steps to make it happen. for example, i would love to work in a place with a team of people, all of whom have different strenghts to contribute to the whole, and who work in a casual environment until we are tired, and then we stop working until we are not tired anymore. that sounds kinda vague, but i have found many aspects of that ideal in a volunteer job i am doing now, and maybe that experience will eventually help me find a job that pays with similar circumstances.

i don't know if any of this is helpful at all, but those are my initial thoughts.

Dream: It is night in a shipyard. I am having a heated discussion with an attractive young Indian woman who has a child slung on her hip and two more in tow on foot. Even though I am speaking the language we are conversing in, I do not recognize it. We appear to reach some sort of an agreement and she turns to walk back...

Cartoon Network routinely airs a commercial for this criminally bad Christian rock CD. I have had the goddamned music stuck in my head for almost 4 days now.

damn. there go my suggestions.

well, how about a re-read of lord of the rings? that will, at least, distract you until you get the liscence back. any author will do, of course, the main point: immerse yourself.

not that ignoring problems helps make them go away; but if you cannot solve them in such a tense state, you need to relax before you can deal with them. how can you relax if you are constantly worried about them? distract yourself with worthwile endeavors.
darkskyy1:
hey man, i want to talk about the "she" stuff, it really hurts me to know that she may go, im so sorry to hear that and if there is anything i can do, please don't hesitate to ask, as you may know, jessica and i are no more and it is amazing how you can be so blind to how you stand with someone and not realize it until they are gone

I really hate the fact that there is an unrealistic standard for womens beauty. The fact that a lot of women feel they have to have surgery just to feel good about themselves is Totally Fucked. I could write a book on this topic but I won't.

the answer to your query, my friend... deserves a new journal entry.

it will be submitted as a comment to your next entry.

it's just that the current entry reminds me so much of the first Soprano's episode last night, and... ugh...

Does anyone know of a good Japanese restaurant around here?? oink

stop putting this off, come over and hang out damnit
saul2600:
Nippon-jin restaurantu:

Nobu's (best for sushi, sushimi, green tea ice creamu! on olive, between 170 and hanley)

Ted and Teiko's (on Manchester between brentwood and... uh... 270... kinda general, that... but... good for soba and on the cheap.)

Kobe Steakhouse of Japan (Tokyo?) (+/- 2km of 270 on olive, in a strip mall. Tempanyaki!)

Rubado's (Westport plaza... Tempanyaki, MuthaFucka! best one, at that... 'round these parts.)

Genkhi Desuka!

(hajimumashita)

ok... i give up... that last word is hard to spell, though easy enough to pronounce. it is a ryukyu dialect, anyway, so it will be of little use.
